04/9/2006 15:43 | PFL outpacing ECM today, PFL interims on thursday | b0tman
04/9/2006 14:40 | Also notice how those director buys in July were right at the bottom of the market | botwoman
04/9/2006 14:38 | nice to see the stock price strengthening. the double bottom and long-term charts look awesome | botwoman
04/9/2006 13:44 | certainly near the top... | botman begins
04/9/2006 13:10 | Is ECM still the highest yielder in the FTSE 350? | bot_man
04/9/2006 10:49 | Frankly I am surprised no one has had a crack as ECM while the share price has been down. The share price is at similar levels as 12 years ago, yet since then they have expanded successfully into US, grown rapidly in Asia and are picking up pace in Europe. Further, ECM has a clean balance sheet with modest debt. I would have thought it was an ideal candidate for an MBO, private equity or a business services corporate. | botman begins
04/9/2006 09:12 | well the UK economic backdrop is improving... Industrial optimism at nine-year high By David Prosser, Personal Finance Editor Published: 04 September 2006 Confidence among British manufacturers is now stronger than it has been at any time over the past nine years, according to the Engineering Employers' Federation (EEF), which said strong demand from the US and the Eurozone was continuing to boost optimism. The EEF said the proportion of manufacturers planning significant investments in their businesses was at its highest level since the end of 1997. The balance of companies planning capital expenditure against those with no plans to invest has reached 7 per cent, the EEF said. The positive balances for companies reporting higher output and orders are at 18 and 14 per cent. | b0tman
04/9/2006 09:03 | Does this mean back up to 300? | botman begins
04/9/2006 08:25 | nice bottoms everywhere on this chart! | b0tman
18/8/2006 13:48 | Is this the big breakout? Can this mean the hedgies are back? | bot_man
20/7/2006 15:59 | lagging PFL today, could be opportunity to top up? | botman begins
19/7/2006 15:18 | Probably just massively oversold. Annual results beat revenue expectations and trading since then has continued to beat revenue expectations. Analysts keep ranting on about the UK business being in the doldrums but over time UK is declining in importance as international expands at pace (16% in Q1) | bot_man
19/7/2006 14:21 | Golly, these really are perky today. Is something up? | b0tman
19/7/2006 12:59 | A fresh breath of life over here... someone after the 8% dividend yield? | botman begins
19/7/2006 11:52 | Nice to see trades over 230 this morning. If this is the bottom, perhaps it could be the beginning of a big move up as with other bottoms. | botwoman
19/7/2006 09:31 | trades at 230. is this the big turnaround? | b0tman
19/7/2006 08:38 | I cannot recall these gentlemen buying shares in the market before and the share price is very depressed. So perhaps this does have meaning. 25k still worth £57k | botwoman
19/7/2006 08:27 | Not exactly a masive vote of confidence, 25000 shares, is it? And that is all Boddie holds in total. I expect they will be on a performance share scheme though, so what have they to worry about. This was just a token purchase to help lift the share price At these prices, though, this seems like a real steal to me - just wish I had waited before I bought! fh | foreverhopeful
18/7/2006 15:50 | Good to see them buying. But this news has not done anything for the share price which is still languishing sub-230p. They still own very few shares, perhaps they should buy some more.... | b0tman
18/7/2006 14:35 | bots did you notice this from yesterday.... LONDON (AFX) - Electrocomponents PLC said CEO I Mason and group finance director S Boddie have each bought 25,000 shares at 226.4543 pence each. Mason now holds 62,349 shares in the company and Boddie holds 25,000 shares. | botwoman
17/7/2006 11:34 | that implies they have evidence that margins are not rising. bloody annoying if true as company has said nothing about margins | bot_man |
