my guess would be further cost saving (heads), streamlining, sucessful integration of SAP, also mirrored the rise of premier farnell in one. to summise...overall- business getting back on track and from the ceo's perspective looking a lot rosier than a year back when getting back to growth was the key perogative. moving forward double digit growth in most areas will be the short term plan.

yes, shares certainly anticipating a strong recovery. and some interesting activity in the market today - more sellers than buyers on OB but price going up - seems to be a large hidden buyer

i bet they meet targets atleast a year of schedule, potentially a very nice time to make a one-off conditional award...

LONDON (AFX) - Electrocomponents PLC said it has made a one-off conditional
award of 800,000 shares to chief executive Ian Mason under the Executive
Incentive Plan.
It has also awarded finance director Simon Boddie 400,000 shares.
The awards will vest in full if the pretax profit in the 2008/09 financial
year is 155 mln stg or above.
It said 20 pct of the award will vest if pretax is 130 mln stg, and the
award will vest on a straight line pro-rata basis in between these levels.
