Passenger falls to death at Gatwick after travelling EZY.... Not going to look great. Falls from height will be one of the biggest risks on their risk register! Not sure of the details but procedures cannot have been followed

I've read there are 1% flight cancellations every year on average. The current figures show 3 - 4%. Therefore 96% of flights are running to schedule. The press are having a field day!!!

Capital raise with the excuse parabolic fuel costs. Brexit fiasco drags on ( the gift that keeps giving ) so sterling now down to 1.20 omFg ( 2.07 under Blair to 1.20 under shxtty useless Tories ) Oil priced in USD and UK energy poor, oh dear. Coupled with parabolic inflation ( useless BOE ) falling wages and insane tax levels……house market next to crater so holidays will be off agenda…..Ryanair and maybe Wizz ( altho they look pretty sick ) but EZ and Iag are toast.

The demand for travel is so highly at the moment, people are desperate to travel to the sun. I think we will see a huge rebound soon. Back to £5+ very soon

All budget airlines have add-ons, Ryanair were the king of hidden fees but now it goes without saying. Clearly nobody should be traveling 1000 miles for less than the cab fare to the airport. easyJet make their money in the summer, the rest of the year is for nothing. So now is their opportunity. However whatever they make will have to be pretty special to carry them through compensation claims.

They will be generating lots of money even with the cancellations. Airlines always have cancellations for one thing or another. Have you seen the price of tickets lately? All the extra add ons? Pay for luggage, extra leg room, choice of seat, tea and coffee You pay lots more than the stated price. Plus they hedged their fuel prices. Although obviously future fuel contracts will be higher.

I guess it depends how inclined the market is to further fund. These are very tough times and the easyJet model doesn't look robust. Yes the next few months are ok but mid to long it looks very shaky.

What a way to go - mustard poisoning. On the positive side though, mustard is an effective preservative so Jason's yellow infused corpse will be able to sit out all of these easyjet cancellations until a flight becomes available. Also his inert state will be at home with easyjet's inflight service.

Life for the rest of us must go on, so I just did a quick comparison with Ryanair on EZJ flights to Barcelona for about six weeks from now - plenty of EZJ flights available at only a little over £100 return. Ryanair's flights were at least 5-10% more expensive and some even more. In terms of price positioning, it looks as though EZJ has swapped places with RYA. I am wondering if this is evidence of the hit to profits from all of EZJ's recent bad publicity.

Jason is actually a friend of mine and I can confirm he actually died recently from anaphylactic shock due to mustard poisoning. We where planning on flying his body back to where his family live but the flight was cancelled several times :-)Lol what is that last post all about saying a handful of flights have been cancelled :-)There has literally been hundreds of flights cancelled.

I'm in here, shares seem low given a handful of cancelled flights which the media are jumping on, I expect they will move to another pointless story soon. The fact is people are desperate for holidays and sadly it's cheaper to fly to spain for a few weeks than go to Cornwall. And then there's all the wealthy air going pensioners propping up the economy ?

Not even in top 20 on HL by volume. Lloyds are been dumped but it’s a dumping day today.
Too sold airline is IAG. Sell if you need to, I’ll look again in 2 years, you may be right

The shares are being dumped bigtime. Jasonpugh has probably expired due to all the mustard sandwiches that he's agreed to eat, despite his allergy. He will be missed.

Meanwhile, recession is rushing towards us, consumers are tightening belts and easyjet's future profits are smaller and being pushed further into the future.

Current market cap is £3.2m. If the business makes half what it made in 2019, a record year for flying, then that will be about £180m. On a forward p/e of say 12 (given the demonstrably high risk nature of easyjet's business) I reckon a market cap of £2.2bn might be fair (shareprice of £2.80). That's assuming there isn't a complete collapse in consumer sentiment, because if that happens, all bets are off and the share price drop could well overshoot below £2.

The next big move will most likely follow the release of EZJ's Q3 numbers. There'll probably be some good news in there on load factors, but the cost of compensation will be significant and the reputational damage will reduce future bookings. Because if you've got kids, why would you book flights for a family of four never knowing for sure whether they'll go ahead? How can you pay the deposit on the hotels? Why risk it? Staycations can be planned with greater certainty. Also the cost of a foreign holiday will be too much for many. Q4 will show the level of damage to consumer confidence with regard to easyjet's bookings.

The EZJ share price has a lot further to fall imo.
