wton1 can I just correct you on that point.

Easyjet along with other airline operate services throughout the winter and make losses. Come the spring, summer and autumn they make healthy profits. By reducing the number of loss making flights in their loss making season means that they are actually saving money.

At the same time with the significantly reduced oil/aviation fuel price that have arrived in the past few days it means that when the slightly better weather is with us then they will be even more profitable than was anticipated.

Easyjet and Flybe use to operate in competition out of my local airport on one route. Since the demise of Flybe the Easyjet tickets on this route one way/single have gone up from £50/£100 depending on the day and time to £232/£382.

Interesting.

Despite all the bad news posted on ADVFN one of our major shorters seems to have turned........ I can only think it's the slump in oil/fuel prices that has brought this on.
