Isn't hammering up a reference to candlestick charts ? Presumably copied without knowing what it is because 'hammering' sounds nice.

Anyway back to Easyjet... or should I say the oil price commentary thread ?

Did anyone know that the price of sugar affects the share price of housing stocks ?

Brent nearly below 60 dollars, down 20% since April, airline share prices should be flying, excuse the pun.

All airlines look good value, IAG carried 10.3m passengers in May, expecting a strong summer, bodes well for every airline.

robot ic1, not the best worded post I've seen on ADVFN.

I take it that english isn't a subject that you concentrated on when you were at school. And please remove the spaces between words and full stops . They look stupid as you can see .

June 9th 2019...

How quickly things can change in the oil market. In less than two months, the oil outlook has swung from strongly bullish to decidedly bearish.

Only six weeks ago, a cross-section of analysts had forecast oil prices to remain buoyant for the remainder of the year courtesy of an expected OPEC squeeze and geopolitical turmoil in key supply locations. Some even predicted that an improving economy and Iranian sanctions could propel Brent to $100 per barrel in a matter of months.

Fast forward to the present and oil prices have unexpectedly cratered: Since then, Brent is trading down around 13 percent to $62.33 per barrel; while the U.S. benchmark, West Texas Intermediate (WTI), has slumped 16.3 percent to $53.17 per barrel thanks to a confluence of unfavorable factors.

Oil markets have effectively slipped into bear territory, defined as a 20 percent fall below their April peak.

Good news indeed :-)

"I told you the stocks would hammer up"
The origin of the expression hammered in financial markets comes from when a firm of stockbrokers, or, jobbers could not meet their obligations and an announcement in the Exchange was made using a gavel to gain everybody's attention- never heard of hammer up!!
