04/6/2019 08:25 | Robot ic1, please explain your reasoning as ic1 2 and not for the same reasons. | tom89
03/6/2019 23:55 | Easy jet is about to start hammering up , remember I told you so , Make sure you have a big pile of these as the predicted rise will add big money to your pension pot. | robot ic1
03/6/2019 18:15 | Woodford just frozen his fund, wipeout. I called it a year ago, anyone who backs brexit britain has mental health issues. | porsche1945
03/6/2019 15:01 | M, I did say say be very careful there. Thought the equity raise while maintaing last year's pay out was pretty disgraceful - effectively shareholders were paying for their dividend. Worked in construction a very long time ago now, it was a difficult industry even back then. The big issue has always been margins are wafer thin, so if contract bidding is on the optimistic side on costings, you can take a very nasty hit. BBY is the only sector company I might consider, held it once briefly from memory. Look at the cost overruns already on HS2, someone may take a huge hit there - unless the taxpayer is on the hook for all cost overruns. | essentialinvestor
03/6/2019 14:55 | You could always come and join me in Kier! LOL | minerve 2
03/6/2019 14:53 | M, I've only got a few hundred shares!. As with RYA it's not something I could recommend to anyone, as mentioned last week - particularly if the UK is on the no deal express arriving on 31/10. It would only ever be a very small position, not that brave. | essentialinvestor
03/6/2019 14:47 | still going down I see. It is Brexit and the damage won't stop until Brexit is cleared. | bor491
03/6/2019 14:37 | It is nice to have role reversal for a change Essential! Normally it is me dipping my toe in and you watching from the sidelines. This time it is the other way around. :) | minerve 2
03/6/2019 14:35 | I must admit I am tempted by EasyJet. It seems to have all the right buy signals other than the fact it is an airline. LOL | minerve 2
03/6/2019 14:32 | Hi M, I'm not that familiar with Whizz My Dad trades it though, his last trade their was last week. Would guess it may ultimately be taken out. | essentialinvestor
03/6/2019 14:30 | I am trying to ascertain how much data is being used in the running of these businesses. I think those who can gather decent data and model their businesses and prices on such things better than their competitors could potentially gain durable advantage. Comments???? | minerve 2
03/6/2019 14:28 | Essential Have you looked at WIZZ? | minerve 2
03/6/2019 14:06 | Monty, IAG may be good value, have not looked at it in any detail for sometime. In terms of the rating multiple difference, more premium travel options may be a reason, or there may be something else?. On the RYA board I posted a TA view from someone who sees RYA potentially well under 9 a share - that's just one opinion obviously. | essentialinvestor
03/6/2019 11:35 | 100k director buying is not bad at all imo | cascudi
03/6/2019 10:35 | Ess Don't agree North American route booming, that saves IAG from Europe cut throat business. Thats why IAG are paying a special dividend in a couple of weeks. | montyhedge
03/6/2019 10:33 | Second small lot @ 850.6. | essentialinvestor
03/6/2019 10:33 | Good reason for that monty. IAG derive a chunk of profitability from club, business and first class, particularly business class. Come a downturn they are the segments that get hammered. EZJ and RYA are also highly cyclical, but do not have that exposure. | essentialinvestor
03/6/2019 10:23 | Why is Easyjet on a double the p.e of IAG, in theory this should be a lot lower if given the same rating. | montyhedge
03/6/2019 09:44 | Like I say you will see 8 pound a share | barbar7619
03/6/2019 07:17 | I know out of M&S and EZJ it's a no brainer to me that EZJ is a better longterm investment. | amt
02/6/2019 16:01 | Please do your own research as always. | qantas
31/5/2019 12:57 | Before then, August onwards. Market is largely a discounting mechanism. There will be some very temporary optimism with the new PM which is likely to disappear rapidly. This will create investment opportunities, leave the emotion to one side. | essentialinvestor
31/5/2019 10:36 | Panic wait till October :) It will be 'October never ends'... | bor491
31/5/2019 10:16 | Monty, thanks for the view. bought a very small amount as mentioned. RYA is the sector stock I'm looking to increase, hoping for under 9 If some panic sets in, but would start to add slowly under 9.90. As mentioned on the SHA board last week I'm cautious on markets atm and have a high % in cash. RYA is unsuitable for many with no dividend, FX risk exposure , but that is a very long term holding for me. | essentialinvestor |
