Hi M, I'm not that familiar with Whizz My Dad trades it though, his last trade their was last week.
Would guess it may ultimately be taken out.

I am trying to ascertain how much data is being used in the running of these businesses. I think those who can gather decent data and model their businesses and prices on such things better than their competitors could potentially gain durable advantage.

Comments????

Have you looked at WIZZ?

Monty, IAG may be good value, have not looked at it in any detail for sometime.
In terms of the rating multiple difference, more premium travel options
may be a reason, or there may be something else?. On the RYA board I posted
a TA view from someone who sees RYA potentially well under 9 a share - that's just
one opinion obviously.

Don't agree North American route booming, that saves IAG from Europe cut throat business. Thats why IAG are paying a special dividend in a couple of weeks.

Good reason for that monty.
IAG derive a chunk of profitability from club, business and first class,
particularly business class. Come a downturn they are the segments that get
hammered.

EZJ and RYA are also highly cyclical, but do not have that exposure.

Why is Easyjet on a double the p.e of IAG, in theory this should be a lot lower if given the same rating.

I know out of M&S and EZJ it's a no brainer to me that EZJ is a better longterm investment.

Before then, August onwards. Market is largely a discounting mechanism.

There will be some very temporary optimism with the new PM
which is likely to disappear rapidly.

This will create investment opportunities, leave the emotion to one side.

Monty, thanks for the view. bought a very small amount as mentioned.

RYA is the sector stock I'm looking to increase, hoping for under 9
If some panic sets in, but would start to add slowly under 9.90.

As mentioned on the SHA board last week I'm cautious on markets atm
and have a high % in cash. RYA is unsuitable for many with no dividend, FX risk
exposure , but that is a very long term holding for me.

Also topped up my SIPP this morning. Once the dust settles I see 1200p to 1500p as fair value. With previous highs and above possible in a more favourable economic environment (which we'll hopefully have at some point in the next 5 years). Also buying Ryanair for the first time to spread the risk across the sector, and have topped up my IAG. Patience and long term view is key. Global air passenger projections for the the next few decades are compelling.

Bought back in with 25% of my original holding today. There is some support at the 850/860 as a post Brexit low. I'm happy to start building a position at these levels. EasyJet aren't going anywhere and I like a few old fashioned yield earners in my SIPP

VAS007, alas not- if you're stuck with some, like I am, it's quite a depressing slide. Just seems constant drop each day. No deal BREXIT from tory leader hopefuls not helping, TRUMP mucking around with Iran (oil) and the China trade wars causes market hits overall... BREXIT hammering the Euro causing markets to think people won't go to on hols outside of UK, despite high pax numbers (EJ costs so increase) but costs higher although I think they will drop. So keep holding if you afford to do so, this few % a day drop so has to ease and of course rise. But the question is when?

Whizz Air decent figures today, encouraging for the rest of the sector, headwind was oil, but down around 12% since April, good for all airlines.

Picked this up from ft alphaville yesterday:

I think its Jp Morgan:
"Our price targets now sit very close to the EV/NAV multiple for both the airlines, with easyJet at 0.85x and Ryanair at 1.1x. We acknowledge the share price weakness may seem a reasonable entry point, given limited downside for both airlines, based on their historical troughs. However, in the short term, we think this is balanced by the risk of a continued lower fares environment and macro uncertainty resulting in further rebasing risk to FY19/20 earnings levels."

So with EV/NAV is less than one, it puts Easjet in official value terroritory, admittedely not deep value. Also yielding more than 6%.
