12/7/2023 20:36 | Deeside (Cheshire) just gone active: DX, a leading provider of delivery solutions, including parcel freight, secure courier, 2-Man and logistics services, is pleased to announce further investment in its depot network with the opening of a new depot in Deeside. This is the first new depot opening in DX’s new financial year, having opened nine depots in the previous financial year, which ended 1 July 2023. It is part of the Group’s continuing evolution of its network in the North West and North Wales regions, and follows DX’s recent agreement to take on 15 sites that were previously operated by Tuffnells Parcels Express Limited. The new site in Deeside will serve the Group’s Parcels operation, which is part of the DX Express division and provides highly secure, tracked deliveries both to businesses and consumers. The 9,900 square feet site is located on the Sandycroft Industrial Estate, a well-established industrial estate, situated to the east of Deeside town centre and only eight miles from Chester. It has excellent local transport links, as well as very good access to the A55 North Wales Expressway and the M56. In addition to providing additional capacity, the new depot will further improve the division’s operational efficiencies, and further reinforce the division’s strong reputation for service, with earlier deliveries and later collections, supported by local customer services. Importantly, the new depot will be operated with a view to reducing carbon emissions, with energy efficient lighting and other measures, it will also facilitate a reduction in stem mileages resulting in lower fuel consumption. Further investment in the depot network is planned for DX's new financial year ending 29 June 2024, the final year of the Group's current three-year, £20-£25 million investment programme. Alongside the substantial investment in its delivery network, DX is investing in new fleet, including electric vehicles, parcel-handling mechanisation, and new technology. Paul Ibbetson, Chief Executive Officer of DX (Group) plc, commented: "We have substantially expanded our depot network over the last two years and this latest addition further increases our capability in the North West and North Wales. It is also in addition to the 15 former Tuffnells sites that we are in the process of taking on. “As well as delivering additional capacity, the investments will ensure that we maintain our very high customer service levels as we continue to grow the business. Service is integral - and critical - to our ongoing successful growth and development." | ![]() swiss paul
12/7/2023 16:04 | Another day of continued and quite chunky selling. Heading back to the 20s by the look of things | ![]() everton448
12/7/2023 08:58 | You can be sure that there would have been no read across had there been positive news... Am starting to wonder (given that the market seems to have no real interest in DX and hasn't done for well over 2 years) if the future is a purchase by private equity for a company which is highly cash generative with no debt | ![]() everton448
12/7/2023 08:41 | Cautious update from WIN, affecting share price today? DYOR | ![]() qs99
11/7/2023 22:17 | Yup as Stemis says sentiment, higher interest rates, confidence - macros stuff - probably nothing to do with DX. | ![]() nigelpm
11/7/2023 11:23 | Just seems to be the way with the market at the moment | ![]() stemis
10/7/2023 14:12 | Strange, how most people are predicting a positive trading update, and yet the days leading up to that sees a constant stream of sales. Don't understand it! | ![]() everton448
09/7/2023 20:38 | 'Early' July I was told but according to the last RNS it will be 'mid' July. Can imagine the Tuffnell's situation has delayed matters slightly, both due to workload but possibly also getting their brokers up to date on prospects from here. I don't see any reason to expect anything other than an 'in-line' at the very worst, hopfully an 'ahead'. | ![]() stemis
