OK pretty decent TU IMO, DYOR etc and with c.£36m of NET cash, that is some serious cash generation. SO EV c.£130m....EV/EBITDA looking too low IMO....will be interesting to see how Mr Market takes it and new CEO....

I can't see the Liberum forecast but FinnCap have 2023/4 ebida of £56.0m and cash at £41.7m. Even on a meagre 4 x ebitda, that would give an EV of £265.7m, which is 42p a share on 597m shares plus 32m options (see RNS 12.1.23). A multiple of 6 x ebitda gives 60p. FinnCap's target is 57p.

Current price of 29.5p is 2.6 x ebitda

Isn't this announcement just the consequence of the exercise of his options yesterday (although I don't quite get how they've worked out the figures)?

Ok, I probably overdid the language - of course it's interesting.

AND trading will have been strong over xmas, and there could even be bid interest from Lloyd Dunn, who is clearly bored and sitting at home watching things carefully and wants his baby back.

I can imagine Lloyd in his Jim Jams calling his old mates at the depots - "how's it going fellas?" "Yeah, can't move for sh*t mate, pallets everywhere" Lloyd gets onto his broker "Buy the Sh*t out of it" lol.

prove it? Or course not, but it is an interesting sideline development to know he is still interested in what is going on. Adds to the likelihood of quicker upside if you ask me.

I think everyone here gets the value and discount to a sensible market price - doesn't need an ex-CEO purchase to prove it.

Wincanton - maybe not a DIRECT comparator, but trades at 5* EBITDA with a c.2-3% yield. Implies that DX should naturally rise to a similar multiple (50-60p) and once the 1.5p dividend is in the market, that would also then be at 5* and 2-3% yield.

No bear signs here at all. DYOR etc, but this looks like a RARE opportunity to me

EV c. £130m, with c.£50-60m+ EBITDA potential IMO, and with c.5% yield in the offing for 2023, what is not to like? Please do check my rough and ready figures and DYOR, but IMO Dunn buying more is a big old plus in my thinking ....DYOR as ever have bought some more

In line statement from Wincanton, albeit also with recognition of tight macro environment.

According to Hargreaves Lansdown , the biggest holding of the Marlborough Special Situations Unit Trust , at 2.66% , is DX Group . I have held Marlborough Special Situations in the past and , in my opinion , it is a good fund and , now that , looking ahead , inflation fears appear to be receding , I am considering putting money back in to the fund , BUT DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH .

interesting, the combination of strikes at RM plus the better than anticipated xmas (see the NEXT trading statement today), plus inflation expectations getting lower, plus an insanely low valuation in the first place SHOULD mean a perfect storm here over time. roll on the next news flow.
