I noticed a sell of 438,000 earlier in September which is bigger than the total of all buys in August & September. Perhaps that was the Luxemborg Bank.
The buys from Aviva NORWICH UNION is more sinificant LIFE ASSURANCE COY BUYING FUNERAL DIRECTORS.
Look up Dignity plc on internet search engine no website but it shows in each locality they own half the undertakers

Surely the weak point in this argument is that whilst we should get friends and relatives to sign up for pre-paid plans (did anyone ever see the Watchdog investigation of SCI many years ago? Yikes!), there is no point paying out ourselves now.

As far as I am concerned, when I go they can put me out with the bin bags! Hopefully, by the time my numbers up, the baby boom generation will have popped their clogs and I will have reaped and spent the rewards of holding this sure-fire winner stock!!

"..we should promote the company ourselves. It's in our best interest..."

You can do better than that, Bingo; shareholders can help boost profits before dying - by taking out one of the company's pre-arranged funeral deals and encouraging all friends/colleagues/relatives to do likewise. Pay now die later. Profit from your own funeral by booking years in advance of likely need, giving yerself time to spend the shareholder gains, seeing as how you can't take them with you.

Invest in your own future demise - in time to profit from it.

Im in today.Just think its a pretty safe share with a consistent cashflow due to the nature of the businness,And room for aquisitions to help things along as well.

the buys far outweigh the sells
look for the time the trade was actioned
and the price
the last column are buys, in my opinion
so cheer up
just watch the price fly

Don't quite understand why if the sells outweigh buys, then why is the price up?

I need to talk to some mm's and see how they work. Do you know of any good books that explain how the mm's work

tipsy,

I couldn't agree more, and that's why we should promote the company ourselves. It's in our best interest.

Recently there was a fund manager on Working Lunch who said that you can invest in the best profitable company, but if nobody knows about it, the price aint going to go up. Supply and demand.

The advantage is does have, is that the business is unique in that it's the first funeral service company to list which will hopefully give it more media exposure. If the results are good and they continue to grow and make a profit, then the demand for the shares will increase. This I have no doubt about. Also, as we have already mentioned on this thread, it should be a stable business due to the antipated steady revenues.

I have the utmost confidence in this company.

the problem with dty is that not too many people know about it.
Having only just floated they need publicity, loads and loads of it.
Anyone looking for a solid investment cannnot go wrong imho.
The company need to promote themselves, get the name known.
The name itsself is excellent, self explanatory and memorable.
They need to publicise themselves to the investment funds managers,
once they do that its anyones guess how high it can go.

tipsy,

What do you think think the price will be come the end of the year. £3 would be my bet. Obviously that's a pure bet, but it's exciting to speculate.

Whatever happens, this share will do excellent over the coming years, which is how long I intend to hold for. Growth will happen due to aquisitions, and this doesn't happen over night.

I'd get in whilst it's cheap, cos this baby is going to make you some money!!

creamygoodness -
didn't realise your in the same business.
so you dont need me to tell you about how sensative a job this must be.
The two people I know who are in this trade are very down to earth,
and cheerful people, which I think you have to be.
I agree with bingobingham, hedge your bet and invest before the share
price goes higher - as it will........
good investing

Thanks for that Tipsytoad. We all have our views and it will be interesting to see how things develop both business and share price wise, mainly, (for me anyway), as thats my line of business, and its nice to see what others are doing.

It was also just a throw away line about people thinking we are all rich.. Thats the thing about bbs. You can`t always get the tone in which things are said.

Good luck. I hope you all do well with your investments and one day I might even dabble in this one myself. You never know!

I'm not saying all funeral directors are rich,

What I am saying is that dignity have grown to a company big enough for
a stock market flotation, so they must be doing something right.

The only one certainty in life is that every single person
will need the services of a company like DTY and if DTY live
up to their name, they will be a winner.
Just my view......

I'm not 100% sure about your p/e question, but I would assume they assess the company's earnings based on Dignity's current market status. i.e Dignity has so many shares in issue, so by knowing the earnings for the year, they can calcuted the earnings per share.

Would anyone care to correct me on this, as I too would be interested?
