considering the amount of bank stock holders who will be committing suicide I am surprised that DTY's share price hasn't doubled

Tipped by Meryn Somerset Webb in todays Evening Standard as a good defensive buy.

on a wider scale graph than those above this shows a nice cup and saucer formation now over the last 5 months. on that basis you would expect new highs soon. All IMHO DYOR.

Looks as if they went XD today so that normally gives a drop for a day or 2 and then off again.

whats happened ? why the big drop today ? have people stopped dying, or has someone discovered a cure for death ?

predictably good results

love those prepaid funerals (all that cash up front).

I have to say if I was forced to pick only one share to own this would be it

thats the thing take advantage of the credit crunch to buy the unaffected good shares that are going cheap, still think there are better ratings around but few better companies to be into that dty just wish it was cheaper still as i bailed out above the current level at christmas

melody9999 - similiar story here, held for over two years, but could not resist the urge (well done on 751, me mid 40's. I like DTY a lot, but this kind of volatility makes it a good trading share also.

I've been holding for 18 months but admit to selling at 751 this am. I'll be back but seemed a good opportunity when strength in the share but so much volatility.

In fairness they still seem a decent/"safe" share to hold long term but they're going crazy!

For a 'safe' share this sure is volatile!

Fully invested elsewhere right now but you are so correct. My best mate works for the amjor opposition to DTY and rates them quite highly. Death never goes out of fashion after all!

Will be a toss up between this one and RBS when I decide to play again

thanks red

long way to go back up to 740 though - that overhang is still out there i'm sure.

long term this has to be a safe haven. i remember the last quoted funeral place being taken out at a good price.

i love this share.

Not sure we will have seen the worst of this yet, given the uncertainty of summer but good luck with the purchase.

I will continue to watch from the sidelines to see which way it trades for a while.

If you do happen to have bought in at the bottom well done to you
