16/6/2019 20:12 | Hi Q and Robot According to the mail a recent poll has indicated Borris would win a general election but the same poll said they would be less inclined to buy a second hand car from him! So the question this evening is this: Would you prefer to buy a car from Pendragon or Borris bear in mind Pendragon is in trouble and you may not get your car. | debsdowner
16/6/2019 09:26 | Qantas ,good morning , Debsdowner will be cumming shortly . | robot ic1
15/6/2019 22:14 | Welcome back DD we missed you. | qantas
15/6/2019 18:26 | Q Marks underwriters sold untaken stock for £2.11 from a press report last week. On other retailers IC mag rate Sainsburys a sell. The boost on earnings from ARGOS will fizzle out now and they are losing market share. With a possibility of a recession ARGOS wont bring them in as much as they think. Margins at the supermarkets getting slimmer Tesco the highest of the 4 but growth is slowing now. | debsdowner
15/6/2019 13:43 | KNIGEL Not all the supermarkets can survive at this rate so I agree with your thoughts. Tesco seemed to be picking up but growth fallen back. They put some of the slow growth this year on poor comparison last year we had a hot summer and world cup, however they must be losing sales to Aldi and LIDL both are racing away. With Aldi opening up an additional 40 stores in London alone it will hit their express stores not to mention its larger stores. Sainsburys clearly at risk now after the ASDA refusal I suspect shorters will increase their bets now. | debsdowner
15/6/2019 10:49 | Niggle, what about the supermarkets? Some ar definitely worth shorting - if that's your thing | knigel
15/6/2019 10:45 | Good Morning number 1 Robot. Looking good the Black Gold. | qantas

14/6/2019 20:49 | niggle yes I agree when Ted Baker warned that set the exit button. Even the big boys now feeling it like Sainsbury's and Tesco the latter sales growth slowed quarter on quarter from 1.5% to 0.5%. Many of the UK had to turn the central heating on this week temperatures well down for June. This time last year the UK basking in the sun showing of their fashions, this week people staying in doors watching TV or talking to one another on the web. | debsdowner
14/6/2019 10:02 | It's time to short all fashion retailers. Since the only thing being worn this summer is sowesters and wellies, fashion retailers are all in the do doos. Short: Next Asos M&S Ted Baker N Brown etc etc It'll be carnage come the next round of trading updates. | niggle
14/6/2019 09:42 | Q Kier group to sell its housebuilding arm and shares shot up. Bad timing for Neil Woodford he had been selling down his stake now seeing it rebound. I suppose its swings and roundabout lost on the sale but gaining on what he now holds. Only he will know what the true position is but overall I expect his stake in Kier still well down. According to latest press he has sold near £100 million of stock the last week to shore up his fund while its closed but not probably not enough to pay out Kent council never mind anything else. Robot Seems other people have decided to post on my Marks thread but like Farage starting to take off in due course and my new Sainsbury thread may follow. Q You been following Pendragon? Another stock in the mire lately I could have gone bearish over 12 months ago its downturn was predictable. The company increased selling second hand after new car sales plunged only to see second hand sales fall as well and stuck with large stock on a depreciating asset. | debsdowner
14/6/2019 09:11 | diku only on deceased company's. | qantas

14/6/2019 08:10 | Good morning Robot and Debsdowner. Blocking investors from withdrawing money from investment funds can stop a fire-sale of assets, but also encourage investors to dash for the exit in an effort to get out before the door is shut, a top Bank of England official has warned. If enough funds run into trouble in an "economic earthquake" it raises the risk of funding for businesses drying up, warned Alex Brazier, the Bank's executive director for financial stability strategy and risk. - Telegraph One of Britain's biggest contractors is preparing to sell its housebuilding unit amid increasing evidence of financial pressure on the group. Kier Group has sounded out advisers about the potential to sell the division, which is understood to be valued at between £100 million and £150 million. - The Times | qantas

13/6/2019 09:47 | Qantas , NASA’s first Mars helicopter is in its final testing phase before it launches with the Mars 2020 rover mission. The small chopper will soar above the Red Planet while the rover on land looks for signs of past life. | robot ic1
