Yes sliding down nicely back up to 2p short of 700p.

yes that really is capitulating into the abyss isn't it.

And it's ex div in 8 weeks if I remember correctly - shorters will of course be paying my div - so thats another big thankyou there!

As a long termer I always like to look at longer term charts. A good point is how it's come up from the 660 level but has failed today to hold or break 700p, a low allready in or part of a further slide?

well we shall see, at the moment it's a gamble either way we are all just betting on the next piece of news which comes out really. It's only ever going to be up or down which is quite comforting in itself.

well I bought originally with a b/e of 805 and saw weakness - so I s/betted short at 749 and 795 and sat at a loss for a while whilst thinking why did I do this.

It them plummeted to 660 and I closed the shorts with a large sign of relief.

what a way to make some money.

I do feel it's going up though - not just cos I am long but I can feel it.

I closed short as markets are rallying and sentiment seems to have returned. I would be tempted to reshort if it rises a lot more though as still think there will be gremlins to come out. Also as the figures are going to miss I wouldn;t be surprised if they get any other bad news out of the way via the kitchen sink.

I pay very little attention to broker notes, but I am short as I mentioned the other day on here.

Once the SFO have finished and things are made more clearer then will reverse.

De La Rue faces Serious Fraud Office inquiry over 'falsified documents'

:-0

Paul Jones an analyst with broker Panmure Gordon, said: "De La Rue has had that kind of history. It had a real reputation for shooting itself in the foot in the '90s. [Former chief executive] Leo Quinn polished things up very nicely and put the house in order. It looks like the house needs tidying again now".

He added: "This update is much worse financially than we expected by some margin and serious in its implications for a business where reputation is paramount."

The problem here in my humble opinion is they've got large dumpers which could be understandable given the last few years performance.

Prudential increased their holding to over 10% today (see rns) They appear to be seeing value.

Perceived over-reaction to an issue De La Rue will get over.

Hard to be sure where the s/term floor is though, until all is clarified.

Anyone know what theshort position was - Is the bounce just bear covering or genuine long term investment ?

The Board stopped shipment of any affected banknote paper as soon as it became
aware of the irregularities. All production is now within specification and the
Company is ready, subject to customer agreement, to resume supply of fully
compliant paper. The Company remains confident that neither the physical
security nor the security features in the paper have been compromised.

well - there must be some big unwinding going on I would have thought the statement would have been well received.
