31/7/2020 06:26 | At least Jet2 paid out refunds in a reasonable manner. Tui effectively closed down for about 2 months and people spent hours (and sometimes more than once) trying to get through to them). | minky
31/7/2020 00:20 | Before anyone shoots the messenger here, this is not a swipe at Westminster (for once). My big concern is that European resorts announce that they are turning their back on the UK market. I know money talks but to what ends? Let’s face it, England is a feeder! Then there really is a problem. | scottish007
31/7/2020 00:00 | Well aware thanks, I fly the tubes for a living. No need to get upset. I just find it incredible that they can fit in 2 turn days for essentially half the fleet to go to Spain twice and still be back on the ground well before midnight (granted I have no clue what the departure times were but they’d need to be earlier than last summers generally were) especially with the minimum crew levels they have. | doris18
30/7/2020 23:37 | Doris Do you think they only fly 1 sector a day? I added up the flights to/ back from Spain and the canaries. Most do a Spain trip followed by a canary trip. I had 76 empty sectors if each plane did 2 it’s 38 aircraft. As I post just 1 still flying in from TFS to MAN | castleford tiger
30/7/2020 23:15 | Tiger - 76 empty aircraft? Where are you getting that from? That’s essentially the entire 737-800 fleet (ie aircraft doing most of the flying). I’d suggest that number is therefore a bit off. They won’t even be crewed for that for a start. Senn - those redundancies were announced over a month ago. Old news. | doris18
30/7/2020 23:00 | Last flights home Monday After that book with another co So if you grew out Monday for 24 days u are getting 7 Let’s see what tomorrow brings | castleford tiger
30/7/2020 22:42 | Trader - Comments like ‘it’s going under’ really don’t show any appreciation of this company. Re returning early - We don’t know what these people have been offered. | scottish007
30/7/2020 22:42 | This is a PR and customer nightmare. What are they doing? They should bring the passengers back when they said they would then ground planes to effected areas until the situation changes.IMO I can only see tomorrow's opening down, not because it makes 2020 figures any worse, that is written off anyway, it's 2021/22 impact on customer's who will not book with Jet2 again. | our haven
30/7/2020 22:26 | Spot on - you have to bring the customers back when you said you would - it's hardly rocket science in the scheme of good customer relations | traderglt
30/7/2020 22:21 | You cannot do what we are doing! Remember we flew people out on Monday after the advice was given. I understand our companies position but you cannot do this. What everyone forgets is that if and when it opens again we have to do the reverse!! Fly out and empty back Something we started doing just 3 weeks ago to Spain. Is it time to ground the fleet to some areas? | castleford tiger
30/7/2020 22:14 | Jet2 should fly as normal these people had these flights booked - they will go bust as nobody will trust them again | traderglt
30/7/2020 22:13 | I feel for those currently in resort, knowing that their home bound flight is cancelled... but having no idea yet when they are required to return home.I'm watching some folk on BBC news, you could say it's first world problems, but for my part I feel really sorry for them, it's incredibly stressful. | festario
30/7/2020 22:12 | Sounds very bad they are forcing people into earlier planes - looks like this is going under | traderglt
30/7/2020 22:08 | It’s not good news tbh 76 empty planes one way today Presume they will get compensation? Government did not make it clear when opening these routes Just bad PR but what can we do | castleford tiger
30/7/2020 20:05 | And now just announced job cuts across the board including 102 pilots to go see bbc | senn1
30/7/2020 19:51 | Yes, really poor from customers point of view. But saves them burning more cash, every airline is literally burning through cash atm. The key is to survive through to nextyear and just a couple of months can make a huge difference.Cash | cashandcard
30/7/2020 19:35 | Yes I hate being asked to cone hone. | stevie wunderbar
30/7/2020 18:39 | Just a thought so defying gravity. Are FOSUN in the frame for a Dart? | senn1
30/7/2020 18:32 | J2 asking folks to cone hone early because they can't afford to keep sending planes out empty see BBC NEWS That is not message I like go see | senn1
30/7/2020 18:25 | Very good day against the backdrop of a massive FTSE fall. Things are looking up. When the FTSE bounces (hopefully tomorrow), we should rise also, but at a much higher %. | hardm
30/7/2020 17:21 | TUI to close 166 high street shops. | stevie wunderbar |
