30/6/2023 12:20 | hpcg - I have my doubts that the Greindingers will be cast aside that's why the C11 proposal hasn't named the new directors but happy to name the Chairman. The Greindinger name is synonymous with cinema theatres it is effectively a global brand name within the walls of the industry. A 100 years they've been in the business. Trying to run the business without them is like trying to run Berkshire Hathaway without Warren Buffet whilst he's still fit and healthy. Secondly in reality there is no newco. HMRC tax and fraud inspectors refer to what is going on here as a Phoenix company, meaning the same company simply trading under a different name. The company itself has not been restructured in any shape form or size. No store closures, no mergers, no redundancies, no nothing. Only the financing has changed but that does not make for a new company. Lets hope the FCA and the High Court see through this charade. | pwhite73
30/6/2023 11:09 | PWhite - a agree with you very much about the Greindingers getting anything at all. It is most likely the case that the creditors did not want to run the show through C11 as they (presumably) had no one suitable to put in place. This is common though, existing management is kept on for a bit and then cast aside as soon as the new co is running. This is what happened to the company I worked for that went through C11. | hpcg
29/6/2023 20:37 | buywell3 - 05 Oct 2020 - 08:29:58 - 4462 of 11659 CINEWORLD - CINE buywell is of the opinion that what has unfortunately happened here due to Covid-19 is going to be replicated in many other businesses that operate with lots of people confined inside a building or large inside area for hours together. Survival = cash preservation and cost reduction. | buywell3
29/6/2023 19:24 | Mooky and the board of directors have done a deal with the creditors. It is quite common that the directors do a deal with creditors when there is a company restructuring. It doesn't affect existing shareholders in any way, they still get NOTHING. | lthtrust

29/6/2023 11:27 | millimeterbrain - If I were a lawyer I would gladly take on this case for the UK shareholders in the High Court on a no win no fee basis. Three directors sell their company to the creditors in exchange for debt write off and capital injection. In return they share £35 million plus 7.5% in the newco when their company is suppose to be 'hopelessly insolvent'. If that's not financial malfeasance then I don't know what is. The Greindingers are de facto shareholders being compensated. | pwhite73
