There is a future in Cinema Theatres
There is big correlation between cinemas and other entertainment establishments not least with old old fashion theatres like plays / Conserts
Women especially like to dress up go out and be seen .you don’t do an expensive hair do or buy the latest fashion wear to sit at home in-front of your Tv!
Ok ladies Indiana Jones out tomorrow! 1000’s will be getting of off their settees !!

There may be a future - but not a past saddled with an unmanageable debt burden. Hence the need for a ‘cleaning̵7; of the slate.

Jaknife - "I've already made this point to their IR department but, to be fair, if it was me then my plan would be to publish an RNS on Friday about the non-publication of the accounts *IF* the administrators aren't appointed first thing on Friday morning."

In the RNS CINE clearly stated the suspension would be as a result of the application for administration not late results and expected to take place in July 2023. Can't see how the administrators can be appointed Friday morning.

RNS 26/06/2023 - "As a consequence of this and following an application by Cineworld to the Financial Conduct Authority (the "FCA"), it is expected that the listing of Cineworld Group plc's ordinary shares (the "Shares") on the premium listing segment of the Official List of the FCA (the "Listing") and the admission to trading of the Shares on the London Stock Exchange plc's main market for listed securities (the "Admission to Trading") will be suspended shortly following any decision by the Board to make an application to appoint administrators in respect of Cineworld Group plc, currently expected to take place in July 2023."

PWhite73,

"Furthermore if Cineworld knows its not going to publish its results that would lead to suspension of the shares it should have already warned the markets instead of allowing investors to trade the stock unknowingly."

I've already made this point to their IR department but, to be fair, if it was me then my plan would be to publish an RNS on Friday about the non-publication of the accounts *IF* the administrators aren't appointed first thing on Friday morning.

Clearly people creditors etc see a future in cineworld!
Perhaps some know ( but not necessarily the judge ) of coming innovations that will attract more people ?

How many times has it ‘said’ - to the nearest dozen - that existing shareholders will see no recovery?

JakNife - You raise a valid point about suspension, but suspension as a result of failing to publish results is not the same as suspension as a result of administration.

Furthermore if Cineworld knows its not going to publish its results that would lead to suspension of the shares it should have already warned the markets instead of allowing investors to trade the stock unknowingly.

I can’t recall saying that they would be in administration by any particular date. I am however firmly of the belief that they will be in administration, with the consequences that entails for ordinary shareholders, as part of the ongoing process.
I hope this helps.

=========================
At the moment my best guess of a timeline is:

Fri 16th June (later today) - the motion to form a shareholder committee is dismissed

Wed 28th - the Ch 11 Plan is approved by the Judge in US time

Thu 29th - the UK plc is placed into administration on a pre-pack basis and the shares are suspended

JakNife
=========================

FWIW this is still my best *guess*. I can't see how the directors could carry on trading after the Plan is approved, since the PLC would be trading whilst insolvent (liabilities exceed assets and there will be no expectation or plan to do anything to change that).

Also, for the reasons previously stated, the Listing Rules oblige Cineworld to produce an interim report covering the twelve months to 31 December 2022 and they must publish that interim report within six months of the balance sheet date.

Hence, to avoid suspension next Monday morning, Cineworld need to publish interim numbers for the twelve months to 31 December 2022 by 7:30am on Monday (3rd July) at the absolute latest.

I don't think for one second that Cineworld will waste their time publishing those interim numbers and hence whatever happens the shares will definitely not trade after Friday.

You might be 90% sure now but along with JakNife, WC104, bbms, loglorry1, monte1 and Co earlier this month you were 100% certain they would be in administration by 30/06/2023.

Seriously how do you expect me to accept your wager when you have given yourself six months (31/12/2023) before you could lose your money and me only a couple of days if CINE are put into administration in July 2023 as per the RNS issued yesterday.

This subject is now closed unless you offer a more sensible timeline like 31st July 2023.

I'm 90% sure they won't go into admin in 48 hours. You are just a time waster.

Name a broker and put the bet on when they pay out on short positions - that's a good objective criteria

...I bet you £10k admin happens this year.

I thought it was clear what the bet was. It's 8 words. Which of them is confusing you?

I think my bet was clear. My contention is that CINE will go into administration this year. I will put £10K in escrow if you do and we can let an impartial decide on or before the end the year winner takes all.

If you believe your own words its a free £10K for you. If CINE carry out the administration process as they say they will then I'll win £10K.

loglorry1 - This is essentially a discussion on a disagreement on the way CINE shareholders should be treated as a result of C11.

Tell me what it is you want to bet on?

If you want to bet that CINE will appoint administrators well that's not a bet because Alixpartners who are insolvency practitioners have been assisting CINE prior to them filing for C11 and their names are on every single docket since September 2022. So the administrators have already been appointed.

If you want to bet that CINE will file for administration well that's not a better either because a condition of C11 again known right from the outset and printed in every single docket since September 2022 is that CINE will enact the C11 in the UK through administration.

Where we have always differed is the way in which the UK court will treat the application for administration in the light of the C11 process. I don't believe it will sanction it unqualified you do.

If that's not your interpretation of this discussion then tell me exactly what it is you want to bet on.

C'mon @PWHite throw caution to the wind. Don't worry about advfn there are plenty of anonymous escrow services we can use and we can appoint an adjudicator we both trust. Stop making excuses if you believe in yourself then why not back yourself its free money for you!

bbms - I've been on this website in one form or another since the reign of Queen Victoria and have read thousands of wagers being offered. To date I have no proof of a single wager being honoured have you?

JakNife, williamcooper & loglorry is this acceptable to you?

As an alternative , whoever is wrong on the original bet - "I bet you £10k admin happens this year" - will never post on ADVFN again? That's 2023, not 1 year from today.
