27/3/2019 07:59 | I have the FT100 opening at + 28 | jpjohn1
27/3/2019 00:42 | I can't think of any cars that have been fuelled by coal? ;) | gaffer73

26/3/2019 21:18 | Yes there are a lot of different types of investors. Some just collect high yielding divs then sell them as soon as they can to make a profit. Others wait for high yielding stocks to go xdiv and pick up cheap shares. There a lot of investors now and increasing who only buy no stamp duty shares to save money , Its good but you limited to a few company's. We lost Shire and Randgold in the FT100 more recently | jpjohn1
26/3/2019 20:47 | Some investors look for a div yield higher than the PE, currently the PE is 10.5 and the yield 10.2, so a drop to a share price of 115 would tip the yield to 0.1 greater than the PE............that said, it would have to fall to about 62p if you go by statutory eps. | discodave4
26/3/2019 20:37 | Always appreciate JP as you well know. | nortic 007
26/3/2019 20:31 | Yes Nortic, I take it with a pinch of salt. There seems so little news coming out about CNA, if I see some I put it on. Try to be optimistic here but it hard when see the share price is this low . Lead up to xdiv will hopefully see it back to the 130p mark. We know we will expect 8.4p drop on the the 9th May | jpjohn1
26/3/2019 20:24 | Up I'm afraid it's written by spivs for spivs. They'd sell their granny if they could.Never look at sites like that... | nortic 007
26/3/2019 20:22 | Good luck to you if can make some money DiscoDave, but most people on here are long. So you can understand you will rub them up the wrong way when complaining about the company. You have to remember there are only a handful of investors here, and it will make no difference to the share price whatever any of us have to say. | jpjohn1
26/3/2019 20:18 | jpjYep agree about the fool, but they do sometimes have decent analysts.Obviously I'm hoping it doesn't go up but each to their own. | discodave4
26/3/2019 20:13 | Evening chaps , at least it finished just blue.DiscoDave, just put on what fool said, another one from the fool next week might say something just the opposite next week. This is why it's hard to know what fool thinks because of different opinionsBecause there is so little news coming out, any snippets I see on CNA I put on. We can all see the share price slowly slipping down, whether this will drop anymore or go the other way is anybody guess. With the 8.4p div on the 9th May there is a good chance this will go up well. Time to tell, and if you own shares here fingers crossed | jpjohn1
26/3/2019 20:06 | Hi Mercer,Fair enough, I may have reacted unfairly to his pop at me.Yes I'm long on a few shares, currently down on about 50% of them so should have short hedged them myself!, but hey feel free lol.I'm not a serial shorter, as posted I'm just trying to make the most of a very volatile market and make some money. | discodave4
26/3/2019 19:54 | I did warn you about the fella | nortic 007
26/3/2019 19:52 | I was only kidding Dave the other day. I can see you because my mobile app makes it far to easy.Your last post just about sums you up.Grow up and behave!!! | nortic 007
26/3/2019 19:47 | Whatsup is a very decent poster/ trader DiscoDave,no need to fall out IMO Most articles I read tend to contradict themselves, I’m pretty sure that Motely Fool has a number of so called experts churning out buy & sell recommendations on a weekly basis. Just out of curiosity DiscoDave are you long on any companies, yeah, I’m gonna short them lol | mercer95
26/3/2019 19:20 | jpjDo you know if that was the article that whatsup was referring to?.Whatsup - will apologise if it was, but the article wasn't exactly shouting we recommend a buy, nothing but iffs buts and maybe's. | discodave4
26/3/2019 19:15 | Hi wendsworth,Thanks, I never invest without a lot of research, that said haven't come across any such corporate action for CNA.Whilst I would have agreed in the past that utilities were save havens, I don't agree now. They are all very heavily regulated now, excessively so IMO - there is also the issue of potential nationalisation. But every investment has some risks just depends on risk reward - CNA though has tipped towards an unfavourable ratio IMO, hopefully for the longs it's just for a short to medium period and all will come good longer term.DD | discodave4
26/3/2019 19:10 | I was in the city today for a meeting and was going to pop into Winterfloods to see the boys but time was against me. I'll speak to the MM in CNA to see exactly what's happening at the coal face . I did point out this trend of up in the morning and straight back down in the afternoon. | nortic 007
26/3/2019 19:04 | Wish that was an FT article !!! :( | nortic 007
26/3/2019 18:59 | Absolutely Nortic, Fool unfortunately usually lives up to its name. | tim 3 |
