kaos - not really, and I wouldn't want to 'advise' - wtfdik? I just prefer large and liquid and dividend yielding (POLY, FRES) generally (I think they're safer) and go for bigger stakes accordingly. But that's just me. CEY is large enough and has a lot of liquidity - but there is no doubt the wall thing is, er, sub-optimal...

You have to be brave to buy at the bottom. But I have no doubt CEY will be a good investment at these levels. The last time it was this cheap was February 19, when the gold price was around 1200 dollars. No need to say more, keep adding

imastu - hej ! I use one of them as a lead, an industry lead. I do not know which one is best signal giver. any ideas? as you said - it is all more or less the same. only volatility is different - so one says buy - and I go and buy the most volatile ones (at the bottom). CEY atm

Over 1 year, since the pandemic plunge and recovery, it's even more stark re CEY: free stock charts from uk.advfn.com Of course, that may well indicate that it has the most potential for recovery. But it doesn't appear that director sales of anyone are a factor.

Or maybe not: free stock charts from uk.advfn.com It's nothing to do with direction share sales, it seems; it's just the sector, and this (CEY) is the worst of the lot.

HOC the latest example in the long line of what follows director/owner selling

But nothing to stop FRES buying HOC. Speaking purely independently, not as a (relatively small, thankfully) shareholder in HOC, you understand...

Somebody mentioned the possibility of FRES and HOC - seems a plausible fit with SeƱor Eddie wanting out and FRES in the early stages of exploring in South America. But it doesn't look like anyone has told HOC's shareholders - share price continuing to languish (badly).

Looking at some of the values of gold miners with potential .. CEY ; HUM ; SHG ; SRB ; GRL … Makes you wonder if there is the possibility of some consolidation in the sector .. some cheap potential buys for the bigger cash rich operators .. get rid of the expensive dead wood inside some of these companies and particularly those with decent exploration resources and fund them more quickly into production . Just my thoughts .. but it must be tempting at these low valuations.

PAF look interesting right now and I like the inside buying too (although I know the directors here have also been buying at much higher prices than now, so no guarantees!) Will do a little more research first, but might have a nibble next week. Given current PM sentiment, it feels likely that it will post a new year low before it makes a return north - but I can live with drip feeding funds in, so all good. Thanks for the signposting. I am not brave enough to short a gold miner, but fair play, so far you have called it right here! GLA.

OT. TGA have Gone up 100% in few months from when I suggested they were ridiculously cheap. Gold miner, PAF look very cheap. Low PE with a very good yield and share buy back about to start - I bought some. Still hold my Long term CEY! Average at 109p trades for fun.

If CEY are lucky enough to make a profit this year 50% will be handed to the Egyptian government before shareholders get a sniff. What will happen to the share price here if the fed tapers and gold falls back? It’ll be interesting to see how fat the dividend and capital losses will be for shareholders.

I bailed here at 119p and 117p, as the bear arguments and the 'feel' turned me bearish, but I do feel this is going to be a stock to hold again at some point before too long. In consequence, I have kept a close eye on events, but admit to struggling to achieve a target buy back price in my mind. It seems like the markets are increasingly accommodating the inflation 'transitory' position (which I simply cannot see), so PM weakness seems like it will continue for a bit, on this basis. The tapering and furlough changes are of course front and centre of focus as potential things that may quickly change PM sentiment, along with the possible recent sabre-rattling stuff with China, but I just do not know! Maybe waiting for those results is as good a strategy as any. GLA and have a good weekend.
