Premium membership doesn't give you access to level II - that's another additional cost.

As an aside, I've just got an online quote for TALK (HL).

I have just tried to buy some shares in TALK, and(unless I am mistaken)for the first time have been asked to enter a limit price, when normally I enter how many shares I want to buy and if I like the quote, confirm the order. Weird. So, before I phone my my dealer, I am going to monitor the share price for a bit long. End Of.

Forgive me, but I'm going totally and utterly off topic now, simply because I cannot post on the thread that carries the topic, unless, as I understand it, in order to do so, I have to subscribe to the ADVFN Bronze level? if someone could enlighten me as to the reason/s for this, I would be grateful. The topic is the company TALK TALK, LSE ticker - TALK.

To be precise, the statement was the Feds MIGHT(my caps) be buying gold.

I am just the messenger. You can check the reasons given by the commentator on YOU TUBE. That said, given the trillions of dollars the Feds have printed and used it to prop up the U.S. stock market, with J .Powell saying at a Senate hearing that there was no limit as to how far he would go to prop up the U.S. economy, what's to stop him printing a few more trillion dollars to buy gold, which, given the predictions of the majority of pundits, will be a far better bet than propping up failing companies and and buying bonds that Max Keiser and guests, rate as approaching just a few notches above junk bond status.

azalea,

cannot see the fed buying gold, that would be ridiculous, and with what are they going to buy it with?

the only central banks that will be buying are the third party ones that get affected by fed/ecb policy, that have no direct impact on mkt activity.

so we are talking oil producers and eastern european banks etc.

Sp moving up, but a long, long way to go. In addition to 4-5 pundits on You Tube, we now have the BoA joining them(post 289) with a complete newcomer as far as I am aware, suggesting that even the Feds, having almost exhausted its options to stop the market from collapsing, might start buying gold.

Gold futures prices are set by

Today’s spot price

Plus

The cost of storing gold until the contract expires and you take delivery.

Strictly speaking it isn’t an expectation by the market of where the gold price will be when the contract expires.

Hmmm .. it needs t0 break and hold $1800 first. Futures don’t point to $3000 and markets will go risk on and off for at least until the virus is under control .

azalea .. no but it has potential . Its biggest downside is they hedged gold at $1250 to make their loan one of the most expensive in recent mining history ! Every share is a gamble in mining .

If you Google NFP effects on the dollar you will get a comprehensive understanding of the negative/positive consequences.
