"If dollar devalues does gold follow it ?"

All else being equal, when the dollar goes down,
the price of gold in dollars goes up. It would
thereby remain about the same in other currencies,
but these and the POG are all moving all the time
anyway.

Next week, if not this week, we are going to a significant correction in U.S. Stock market indexes, because its only a half a dozen stocks such as Apple and Amazon, that are supporting the numbers and this cannot go on.

If your not convinced the U.S. economy is going down the route described by the above mentioned, then you just have to Google and watch the Max Keiser programme, which I have just finished watching. Between him and his guest speaker a Michael Pento, who constantly closes his eyes and throws his hands in the air as a sign of total resignation if not surrender, on what the Feds Mr Powell, is doing to the economy, you could end up saying to yourself, holy smoke, this IS serious stuff, these guys are not joking..

after the statements by Peter Schiff, Stephen Roach and others, I am now TOTALLY convinced the the p.o.g could hit $2000, by the end of 2020, and more in 2021.

Guys, the only link I can give to a remarkable interview, is to google 'CNBC interview with Stephen Roach Senior fellow Jackson Institute for Global Affairs.

Having Googled 'direction of U.S. yields' I discovered the following:-
Stephen Roach 23/6/2020 8.31 hrs ET
"The dollar is going to fall very, very sharply. The era of the U.S. buck may be coming to and end".
He forecasts a 35% decline soon in the currency against its major rivals, citing increases in the nation's deficit and dwindling savings.
"The Era of the dollar's exorbitant privilege(I think I missed out the words, "as the global reserve currency)is coming to an end. Worries about the global economy have traditionally encouraged buying of the dollar along with other havens, because of the perception of the US as a stable economy and currency. However, growing deficits will eventually change that perception and DELIVER A GUT PUNCH TO THE GREENBACK"(my caps).

A number of S.R's statements echo those of Peter Schiff on the 19/6/2020. However, I believe S.R.'s statement today, is the direct cause of the rise in the p..o.g. today.

Still seems to be building a platform to launch from. Should help keep the price at 1770 when it finally does punch through.

Check this out
FBS: 23 June 09.12GMT Gold: falling U.S. 'Real Yields' fuels bull trend towards $1921.

Also, as Peters Schiff said would happen, the $US is weakening against other currencies, see Euro v Dollar.

POG just short of $1900 years ago.
Average inflation in producing economies since then ?
2.5% ?

That would get an inflation adjusted high for gold of about $2350

Now that would be a high not the an inflation adjusted average or anything... but is that possible?

Add $600 an ounce to current production..... ermmmm.

Yes Siree
One cant blame sellers who took profits this morning as they saw the p.o.g. drop a few dollars, but I suspect they will be jumping back in as they see the share price rise in tandem with the p.o.g., before both really take off.

Challenging the 1770 POG level is going to be a drawn out affair, it has had a few powder puff goes at it so far. It is a massive psychological barrier. When they build up enough steam to punch through it Centamin will be holding on to its coat tails. I hope they have a bundle of good news RNS releases to cement a rerating to the £2 level and beyond.
