QS99 .. like to see it .. on what basis you reckon . POG ? No news from the company likely now until the RNS 23/10/19 . This is usually the opportunity for it to get deramped . I maintain financials likely to be very positive and would not be surprised at 160p . Coming out of ex div next week but that usually doesn’t make much difference . FED ?

So manipulating metals such as gold does not affect certain stocks then??? Now who's silly.

JP Morgan.. have a trading desk as one of many different facets of it's business...

remember what I said.. You need a trading desk that has a controlling interest in the day to day trading volume of a particular market. IE the functionality of a market maker. Pursuant to my cited example with Barclays and LIBOR and Beaufort securities with small caps.

Besides Metals are not individual stocks.

You can't throw around nonsense claims and accusations of stock manipulation without understanding the basic fundamental requirements and operations of the party you're accusing. It' just makes you look a little silly to those with some actual real life experience

Good Morning,Plat Hunter.

Thanks, for your post above, explaining why big investment firms can not, and do not, manipulate stocks etc.

Personally ,I don't mind that share prices are manipulated up and down as I have learned to anticipate this and to take advantage of the situation.

Hence, regular profit taking, buy low, sell high etc and hope for the best.

Morning Cinque...

It's nigh on impossible for big investment firms to manipulate stocks they just don't have that kind of access to the secondary market.

Traders, stock brokers and the company stock in question are the likely and realistic manipulators should it occur
.. Beaufort Securities being a recent case in point.

You need primary access to a market in order to manipulate something... The banks on LIBOR being another example.

You can't move anything without a trading desk that essentially has a controlling interest in traded volume. The complaint of stocks being manipulated is a usually a cry from desperate rampers most of the time.

Plat Hunter: Re:Black Rock.

I note your comments about Black Rock and that you feel that BlackRock does not manipulate stock prices.

Blackrock aside,do you agree with KennyP52,me and others, that a lot of big players manipulate the share price up and down as per one of my recent previous posts above?

Re:investing in a tin foil hat:

I have a nice big wide roll of aluminium foil, under my kitchen sink, enough to make protective hats for most of us here.

I can offer them to any interested parties here at a very reasonable rate but I will need to know your hat sizes.

BlackRock do not manipulate stock prices, they're far to big for that game. They have almost 7 trillion under management and it's all client money. They're not proprietary traders in the slightest. BlackRock don't even have a trading desk, that I can assure you from 1st hand experience.

If that's the kind of thing you believe in then you need to invest in a tin foil hat to as well.

Stevedaytrader: Thanks for your post/response to my post .

It is good to hear your views and ideas.

I should have responded to your post earlier but I missed it.

KennyP52,

Thanks for your post and the www.investopedia.com/terms/s/stockbasher.asp website.

I think that you posted it previously some time ago but it was good to read it again so thanks for that.

Yes,my motto for any so called news website,BBC,Fox,any newspaper news ,any official news, any government statement is::::

Question everything! believe nothing! unless it makes sense to you personally.

Who stands to gain from the statement,or news?

Post edited down as too long winded.

Cinque .. interesting . I suggest you take a look at this ....

www.investopedia.com/terms/s/stockbasher.asp

I have learned very quickly to ignore many and trust a few . If you read that definition it will probably explain why you have been treated the way you have on other boards . Hopefully it will not happen here but to be honest Plat and me have been bashing heads for a year now and it’s not likely to abate 🤣

CEY .... finally had time to read the “presentation” which was not released , as far as I understand , as an RNS but in my view should have been as it refers to guidance being at the lower end of production and makes it pretty clear that July and August have not been good . September represents an improvement apparently and fully year guidance is maintained be it at the lower end ; i.e. 30,000 Ozs below what I would think most of on here not only wanted but expected . So they have failed on production side yet again which is not on after last year and setting themselves a modest forecast . However .... POG average is a game changer and they are supposed to be reducing costs ... the easiest way to reduce AISC is to dig the bloody stuff out of the ground. We had the constant excuse last year of they will be moving into higher grades ... I see this has surfaced again . I am now understanding as to why the market has knocked 20% of the high but still optimistic on the profits and therefore final dividend . Just as CEY get some sparkle going they find a way to throw water on it . Hopefully the RNS in October will give us some more detail .

In a few words: The worst kind. People's lives mean nothing to them.

Kennyp52 : Am I a wolf in sheep's clothing?

No,I have no professional training in financial matters of any kind, which is why I have made so many mistakes.

I left school at the age of 15,passing only my English exam.

I worked as a car mechanic,then as a builder,then as a vehicle insurance administrator until I was made redundant in 2008 .

I needed to earn an income and I got talking with a guy who worked in a news agency, about his attempts to buy and sell shares.

He shared a lot of useful information with me and we compared notes on our respective efforts to make money.

I spent hours in his shop.

For eight years or so, I have experimented, tried repeatedly to overcome the " greed, fear of missing out, fear of losing money, trying to find the "Holy Grail",secret of success, which continued to elude me till this year.

I lost money every year, totalling about £80,000 to £90,000 or so ,which I see as the cost of learning,my tuition fees,so tax has not been a problem. :-)

What is refreshing to hear now, is that you and others here, share my opinion about big players manipulating the price of a share to their advantage,as per my post above.

When I mentioned this previously on this, and on other share message boards, there was usually a strong, indignant, protestation or denial of any such activities from most of the posters, followed by a verbal attack. :-)

That double top on the gold chart looks very much like CEY's double top.. Love to see some rational facts posted in forums.. good job admin.

Bulls, clinging to the hope of military unrest in the east... Can you imagine what kind of people look forward to reading about the suffering of others, over their morning cornflakes?

Cinque .. are you a wolf in sheep’s clothing ? 😀
8 years is a lot longer than I have been trading and my guess is you know exactly what you are doing ?

Anyway ... interesting to see US is going through with prosecution of JPM traders in respect of metal prices manipulation . They want PIs in the market this needs to happen . Still no bankers from the U.K. in prison .. what is the next scandal they get away with ?

I agree re:posts above on Black Rock,

What is the easiest way for the the big players to make profits?

Answer, manipulate the share price by planting negative news or positive news presented as their opinion, which protects them from legal action, dumping or buying shares etc.

Just my opinion for legal reasons. :-)

What do I know?

I have only been watching it happen for the last 8 years or so.
