Jobs numbers were complete cr@p and way below expectations. Rise in earnings (at expectation) should mean next rate rise is still on. US economy appears to be turning but, like generals of old, the Fed is fighting the last war and is 6 months behind the curve. Trump continues to be golden for gold with his $100bn Chinese tariff threat. $1300 support and $1360 resistance.

Mining indexes (GDX, GDXJ, HUI, etc.) appear either poised for a breakout or will slump again until the next attempt. It would be encouraging to see the miners lead gold for once.

Was bored so just went through the latest company presentation. My favorite bits are below

Sukari is a top 20 gold producing mine with >20 year open pit LOM

Centamin is a top 30 gold producing company

Lowest quartile AISC, $790/oz with additional cost upside, 2018F AISC $770/oz

Some drill results from the Amun and Horus zone wow

The chart is looking pretty interesting to me. Looks like a pennant/flag formation. Which is normally a continuation pattern. Obviously the gold price is going to be key to a decent breakout, but a break above 154-5p implies a 30p rally.

That price took me back, ShayAD.. I first bought in @ 26.45! Sadly don't have those any more. Been in and out over the years. Had/have interest in Ancient Egypt - hence the initial interest here. Long may CEY last!

Jobs report tomorrow. Falling into the report and then rising thereafter is a staple for gold. Very volatile week so far, looks like people don't know how to position themselves given all the market volatility. Support at the $1300 area and then in the $1270-1280 area. Barring any dramatic movements in the equities markets, gold continues its waffle (as does the USD). June-July is usually the end of the slow season but sometimes not until August. $1360 remains the barrier to breach. It would take a continued rout on Wall Street to breach this barrier, IMHO.

Yes know them well have actually visited their head office in Moscow. Hate having to buy them for so high when they were about 40p at one stage. I was in them when they went and bought some moose pasture from mr abromvich for $80m. Stayed away to my cost since
