03/6/2008 20:03 | Analyst, Would make a lot of sense. Cant see a bid coming for sumo now, especially as it seems that the reigns have now been handed to Zeal to sell the tv formats B2B. The potential for sumo as a B2B product is huge, although the longer they wait the more risk there will be of competitors catching up and stealing the customers. A JV would be nice. Similar to the Asian venture. Money is needed to develop and market the technology and formats as quick as possible. RV | recto verso
03/6/2008 15:11 | I don't know about anticipation ahead of the results, it's hard (for me) to have any idea of what to expect from the statement, although we know historical results will be poor. All I'm looking for from the results is transparency and clarity as to exactly what the business model is going forward. As it stands, it is impossible to understand what they are trying to do with the company, when the business plan seems to change with the wind. I would VERY much like to see the sumo/technology side of the business separated from the UK TV channels and associated websites (i.e. the porn and premium rate business). Ideally, these two business ventures would be separately listed - perhaps with Cellcast changing its name to something like Sumo Media and focussing on B2B technology and the UK porn/premium rate business having an entirely separate listing altogether, grown and then sold on to one of the really big adult industry companies that may want to get a foothold on the UK market I wonder if something like that could happen? | ![]() the analyst

02/6/2008 13:29 | Hi, Going by an analysis of the models with our previous information, it now seems that they're running most of the adult chat-tv services - all the channels between 910-906, plus 951, 957 and a couple more. The other providers have a maximum of 3 channel-slots, with less broadcast quality. Kind regards, MN | ![]() zoo123

28/5/2008 13:25 | So, it seems there is life left in sumo after all From the way that the sumo tv channel disappeared, I had thought that they were winding it down and possibly looking for a buyer for the website in order to concentrate just on the core business - the Sky channels and the websites / 3G content. But now, it seems that they are still determined to create value from sumo as a world-wide B2B product. This is good news. The big question is whether the content is good enough and will broadcasters want to buy it? I still think they will try to spin sumo off at some stage, but it now raises the possibility that they will sell off the Sky business instead and rename the present listed company as sumo.tv. Possible? I wonder what the Sky business would be worth? - quite a lot if OFCOM don't destroy it and they really are making the £1m+ EBITDA. I would imagine that business could be worth £5-10m+ to one of the big privately owned adult companies. That said, that side of the business now also have the websites being launched and 3G offering that goes with it, so that could be a very conservative estimate if those products take-off. All very interesting stuff, and hopefully the results will help fill in the blanks as to where the company is going. The complexity of the business is still a major problem, imo. So, the sooner that sumo and the Sky channels are separated, the better I would have thought... | ![]() the analyst |
