18/9/2009 08:26 | I am not so sure I agree...but these are challenging times. The revenue went up considerably so they are working harder and generating sales up 20% nearly to £3.9m from £3.3m but they generated no increase in profit whatsoever from those sales and the only reason for an increase in the operating profit was a cutback somewhere in Admin costs which may only be a one off effect. The op profit from toy sales was up to £187k (70k more) but admin down by £70k so totally balanced. The return on sales is barely half of one per cent. That is a lot of hard work for very little return. Thank heavens they are good to us shareholders and give nearly all of it to us each year otherwise it would be quite depressing. In many ways it is hard to justify a listing as those costs must really eat into the profits each year. | davidosh

14/9/2009 21:53 | Results must be close and we should get some info on current trading. One good point is the company that took over woolies have a good showing of Casdon toys. | gears
14/9/2009 21:28 | The actual transaction took place on the 4th June mind you so results could still have been released early August ! It was reported very late though only six weeks late in letting us know... | davidosh
14/9/2009 21:14 | Very good spot. Yes, isn't it 2m before the results for the close period. Bit of a dodgy purchase at that time if the results were known. That said, having a close period for this company is a bit of a waste of time. | topvest
14/9/2009 07:48 | I think the director buy at 40p may be the cause. | gears
12/9/2009 19:55 | They have until the end of October. | topvest
12/9/2009 17:24 | They need to get the results out soon or the shares will be suspended. Results last year were in July. | davidosh
12/9/2009 15:52 | A big delay on issuing the results this year compared with others. I wonder why? | topvest

04/2/2009 09:10 | Tightly held small trades move it MM'S don't carry much stock either so hence lack of activity. | gamblinman
28/1/2009 08:06 | Agreed good balance sheet and now Dyson in Germany looks good. | gamblinman
27/1/2009 21:50 | Yes, the dividend was nice. Better than I expected to be honest. Sounds like UK trading at xmas was down, but should be partly offset by more FOB business. I think Casdon will be around for a long time yet. Good dividend and value play at this price. | topvest
26/1/2009 23:08 | Clearly they are seeing some clouds but that increase in the dividend shows some confidence and gives me a nice income yield whilst waiting for normal markets to return. | davidosh |
