As previously said we are due out on the Arcadia from Sydney on the 20th Feb,we still have no idea what the new itinerary is or a offer to cancel, no odds to us as we are already in Aus and are going irrelevant of what transpires, but I am still expecting the boat to missing a lot of passengers.

I have taken the opportunity to add this morning. These represent excellent value at the current price.

IMHO

Tricky ,but of course biggest returns are likely to be made if you can invest when concerns are greatest. Share price is certainly under pressure.

Very nervous about investing here or in the international hospitality sector yet Chinese tourists are such an important part of that world now- foreword bookings must be dismal with cancellations compounding thatTrading updates will be interesting Better entry points coming

As they traded through the swine flu pandemic (2009/10) which infected about
one third of the global population, would hope solvancy is not an issue.
On the flip side net debt is now higher.

Debt maturity profile will be in the Annual Report, it may also be
on their IR site. The FY or interim statement will give an idea of interest payments,
however that will be for the reported period.

As with hotels, occupancy is a key to profitability and there is high operational gearing,
so small % changes in booking numbers have a disproportionate impact on the P&L.

How much cash flow do they need to service the debts? What capacity must a boat be at before it breaks even? For how long will this virus scare damage bookings, even when the virus is over? By how much will fares have to be discounted in an effort to rebuild trade? Unless you have those answers then you won't be able to tell when it has become cheap, or indeed if it is going to become insolvent.

No BOD buying, perhaps look for under £30 imv.
However, we are all just guessing.

Rather than trying to catch a low, buying a small amount initially
may be an idea, say 20% of the total intended holding. DYOR as always.

Anything sub 3100p seems extremely good value to me, but catching the absolute bottom often needs a good element of luck.

The question is how far will this drop? I`m looking for an entry point but I`m holding off at least whilst the virus continues to spread and new cases come to light.

oneilly. You clearly haven't taken note of the standard - and critical - procedures for testing, trialing and approval of EACH & EVERY medicine. OK, the guy on Sky News may have said a possible vaccine may be ready for TESTING in 16 weeks, but that will be the beginning of the process, not the end. It would be irresponsible in the extreme to risk the widespread use of any medicine without the necessary proven safety regimes.

Which is why they need to be extremely careful.

The Zika vaccine was ready in about 8 months from memory?.
That may hold the record for development time.

Our best hope is containment and it burns itself out,
with a vaccine ready for a potential second wave of infections.

I paid for a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) at Boots last week.

Vaccines are not usually easy to produce in quantity, it's not like an antibiotic
for bacterial infections where they can churn out vast quantities with relative ease.

If we have something within 12 months it will be an incredible achievement.

"The third group, at the University of Queensland in Australia, is aiming to have a vaccine ready for testing in people in 16 weeks. They are developing a vaccine by growing viral proteins in cell cultures."

A vaccine goes through 3 phases of trials prior to approval.
They are at phase 1 currently.

The very earliest any vaccine could be ready is about this time next year -
and that assumes it's successful.
