29/6/2020 15:58 | At some time this is going to see a massive rise. Vaccine report today on the 120 trails world wide estimate 1 or 2 could be ready by October as a few are on late clinical trails BUT needs 9,000 volunteers to complete them. It's coming.... | onehanded
29/6/2020 15:53 | Give or take a million this new loan is going to cost Carnival $200mln per year in interest payments, which means $200mln less in profits per year. | loganair
29/6/2020 15:29 | Surprised no comment on here today on the RNS: Securing their future existence with the clear proviso in the notes (re: breaches in covenants) that cruising recommences in the "near term". | grahamburn
29/6/2020 15:13 | Well i'm calling it the bottom today and pick up 2k | go_baby_go
29/6/2020 15:10 | see at this price on the cruise forum sites, people buying 100+ to get credit on next cruise bill. At £40 a share this was a no go but now could be a deal lol. | onehanded
29/6/2020 15:10 | buying 100+ popular | onehanded
29/6/2020 14:55 | Bounce on from under £9? Was that the target for other large buyers. Would be a good buy if holding into next year. The loan faculty does mean no rights issue. Any news on vaccine from Oxford in Sept could also be a boost. Looks like trading range from £9 to £13 | onehanded
29/6/2020 09:25 | I'm hearing more and more that there will be a second Covid wave and this wave will be far worse than the first wave. We already know that there is no cruising for 8 months and during this time Carnival will have had no income/revenue while their outgoings will be $4bln. A vaccine is not expected to come until Spring 2021 = no cruising/very little cruising for at least 12 months, no to very little income or revenue for 12 months with outgoings/costs of $6bln at the very least and most probably will be sustainably more. At the end of Covid both cruise lines and airlines are going to have increased their debt by a massive amount and the interest on this debt has to be paid which in turn means much lower profits. | loganair
29/6/2020 09:12 | That's why the price is 10 quid and not 60 quid. Instead of looking ahead one minute, try looking ahead 2 years and see how attractive ccl is. If it weren't for the Saudi's investment, which guarantees survival, this would be high risk, but since recovery is guaranteed, the risk is removed. Just needs one days sailing to make up for 1 week laid up. Cruises are already successfully sailing (not ccl's yet), but it's clear demand is there once it's safe. Bookings for ccl's cruises have reported to be, several times reported in various places, at record levels. And if you are not familiar with cruising, that means they are collecting cash now, on booking, and the full balance 3 months before the sailing date. Not sailing doesn't equate to no cash coming in. | pierre oreilly
29/6/2020 09:04 | So where are the uk cruises going in the winter in the med? They have missed the summer and will be having hardly any cruises till next summer. USA in melt down and Australia only doing cruises in their country. World cruising gone. Yes i'm sure in the next 2 years it will come back. | onehanded
28/6/2020 17:59 | This is behind a paywall, but interesting article on the measures being introduced by some of the smaller cruise lines with smaller ships (eg medical grade air filtration, non-touch temperature checks at all venues on board, booked dinner times, some no port cruises already sailing). The link headline says it all! Carnival not mentioned at all, but there are mentions on difficulties with the Americas - both visiting ports and US citizens making up 32% of the cruise market - as well as many ports worldwide taking many months before welcoming 3,000 visitors for the day. | grahamburn
28/6/2020 15:32 | Kitty cats only a few months till holidays makers are flocking to cruise ships. I'm waiting for my cruise. | tradejunkie2
28/6/2020 13:46 | Sorry you appear to be a deramper. Carnival have the agreed loan facilities to cover at least next 3 months. Im expecting a share price recovery to £15 by the end of the year. Lets see who is right ! | underhill2
28/6/2020 12:48 | Sure to test £8 | onehanded
28/6/2020 12:34 | It says 25% plan to reduce cruising or stop altogether. That's a big number for the other 75% to make up. | inaminute

27/6/2020 23:26 | Another Daily Mail link More than 100 cruise ships in U.S. waters were carrying COVID-19 patients and nearly 3,000 crew and passengers were infected on board, shocking figures from the CDC show The USA is very much into taking legal action/s regarding blame IMO Yesterday the USA recorded the highest number of covid-19 cases in a single day , close to 200,000 The second wave has hit if the stats are examined IMO ( see BUY thread) free stock charts from uk.advfn.com free stock charts from uk.advfn.com dyor | buywell3
27/6/2020 22:59 | One of many reports about cruise bookings beating previous records. And some cruises have successfully returned to sailing a few weeks ago. | pierre oreilly
27/6/2020 21:31 | True but not applicable to cruises which are still grounded over the summer. | underhill2
27/6/2020 16:43 | Hello Kitty cats. Coronavirus: Holiday bookings 'explode' as travel restrictions ease | tradejunkie2
26/6/2020 10:52 | Looks like SKIN may be a contract for testing real time on sewer / water for covid and other pathogen detection on their ships soon. SKIN - COVID19 virus has really burst the cruise industry. With no way to instantly alert that a passenger has the virus, the risks to spreading the disease on and offshore is too great. | onehanded
26/6/2020 06:13 | That's so important Sambuca, the 'other share' side of things. You don't want your money tied up in a share that isn't going your way, if it's going to doing nothing good for an extended period of time. A good example is PANR, there are people over there that have invested millions and the price is down 90% or more. They're so certain about their research that they have held onto their positions, added, doubled down, tried to reduce their share price entries etc over an extended period. If they'd had put that cash to work over the priod of this COVID volatility they could have doubled it or better by trading/investing in less risky companies. Don't get obsessed about CCL, there are lots of opportunties and if there is a correction to the general markets they'll get better and better. Personally, I'm closing out and moving to cash at every opportunity. Opportunity cost is a very real problem if you're in this to make money rather than shoot the breeze on BB's. | stupmy
25/6/2020 20:04 | Totally agree with you Stupmy. My personal situation is that I have 120 freebies from trading in and out and I have 128 at an average of £17.20 ps. I only use money that I know I will not need in the near future. I am fairly confident that I will be able to sell my 128 for a profit at some point whether that is 3 days, 3 months or 3 years who knows or but I can wait. As to what you do is your decision do you have another share in mind that looks like it is about to fly so need the funds to buy it only you know. I sold shares in a few companies at a loss when all this kicked off but was pretty certain that the market and was going to fall and my losses were going to get bigger so I cut and ran but had the funds to start again when things looked as though they were improving. Hope this helps you. Sam | sambuca
25/6/2020 18:57 | Carnival has to be the most tragic story of the virus. Such a well run company,a cash cow, turned into an extremely high risk punt through no fault of their own. I can't see a way out here. It's becoming a trader's gambling share rather than an investment. Such a shame. | jonnybig |
