he's just a shorter - the debt is shown as having increased due to the new accounting regulations.

i dont agree the debt is massive -- manageable -- a vast difference for a company with this np/ margin

does NOT seem to be heading south though Stevie!! Incidentally the new CEO at WRKS was the Commercial Director for 6 years 9 months at Card Factory... WRKS only has a 27.87M market valuation. Gavin Peck is the new CEO and he bought 100k of WRKS at much higher levels (68.75p in mid-2019) than this is presently trading - he wouldn't want to lose money!!! I wonder if he buys more.

Were there people in the shop Stevie? It would be helpful if you could make a list of things you like and dislike about both theworks and card factory and post them there. I know you have a bit of disliking for theworks but they must be some things you like about them!?

guys did you see WRKS trading update today!? It say its worth a punt - market valuation of just 21.39 million!! They have now 538 stores. think about it Card Factory vs TheWorks.co.uk - which offers most potential value to investors? TheWorks.co.uk ipo has been disastrous but its now trading at too low a level!

Still watching. I will probably wait until the finals are out before I make a decision on investment and intrinsic value.

Card Factory will evolve as time progresses, it’s not set in stone, it can mould to what fits best, retail is changing, but if you think the high street will disappear, then your crazy, it will naturally weed out the weak, if Card Factory close poor operating stores when the leases expire, open new outlets in shopping malls where everyone goes these days, undercover from the weather and free parking, increase the internet presence, increase presence in other countries, etc etc, the business model is fantastic, cheap in house manufacturing with high margins, that can be gradually increased from silly cheap to great value, a range of high quality expensive cards could be introduced, to take up the slack as the expensive competition disappear (Clinton’s) for example.
The cash generation is strong enough to allow change, and the dividend coverage is strong enough to be adjusted, 12% future earnings can be trimmed if required, hell, 6% is a good deal as long as the company is solid with long term prospects, the recent drop is a great opportunity to take a decent holding cheaply, definitely oversold.
