On Brexit - I suppose news of Germany throwing their weight behind an EU wide recovery fund wasn't reported in your copy of this mornings Daily Express.

Back to Byotrol interested if yourself and chinadog (after denying it) hear Trump saying injecting disinfectant (could be a new avenue the company explores).

Ok Georgia,

the last thing you wanted when you bought Byotrol was to 'buy a troll'.

ddonaldson,

you'll find that it's the Brexit voters who are more likely to have a world view. Remainers wanted to be tied in to a higher bureaucracy and bigger, more expensive comfort blanket. Where has EU been for the Europeans during this crisis? Marvellous at spreading Social equalisation projects but the first serious challenge comes along and (at best) it's floundered. Every EU country has shrunk back into itself.

I see what you are saying 1gw.Maybe you would also have to take into account what the end game is for you as a company.Lets say (and this is total supposition) you wanted to sell the business in a few years time to say a company that already has one of your licensed product/products then you might be guided by that as to what type of deal and who you sign with all IMHO

I'm sure there is riddlerone - but maybe it's no longer first in the queue, in terms of getting it done, as far as byotrol is concerned.

Incidentally, this optionality to do deals in different markets and on different terms, according to where they see greatest leverage, is one of the things I really like about byotrol. They have the base business with Medimark, which can chug along pretty much under its own steam, even without a pandemic tail wind. But then they have optionality to do all sorts of different types of deals:

o Sale or licensing of core IP (e.g. sale of actizone to Solvay)
o Sale or licensing of non-core IP (e.g. licensing undisclosed formulations to Tristel for Cache range)
o Supply agreements (e.g. actizone to Tristel, Invirtu to SC Johnson)
o Financial deals (investment partners to scale up quickly - e.g. hoped-for US deal)

And there's a whole world out there to do those deals in.

Surely there has to be a deal to be done with the EPA approval from every state that alone must have significant value.

And on the "missed opportunity" point, I would use the same counter-argument I used against sikhthetech. Had they done a deal before the pandemic took hold when there was plenty of production capacity they would likely have got much worse terms from an investment partner than they would get now. So you have to balance earlier but less profitable production against later and more profitable production - provided there is a later and more profitable deal to do.

But that article could be very relevant couldn't it? If even the majors can't get enough product on the shelves then doesn't that suggest there is no spare production capacity? As I understand the business model, byotrol produces by tolling through (i.e. renting capacity in) an existing production facility - but if all those facilities are full then even if it can sort out raw materials and distribution it still can't produce unless it builds new facilities, which obviously takes much longer than just renting capacity in an existing one. It also changes the nature of the partnership if they have to find a partner to support the capital cost of new production facilities and not just sales and marketing. And majors, who already have their own production facilities, may not see the sense in partnering with byotrol right now if it means cutting back on the production of existing products to create space for byotrol24.

That doesn't mean there isn't a great deal to do in the US, but it might mean that byotrol would be better focusing on markets where they can access existing production capacity.

Or of course it could be completely irrelevant and it's a completely different reason why a US deal hasn't yet been announced!

1gw,

I'm sure it's not easy but what a missed opportunity.

I look forward to a detailed explanation, but more importantly a way forward.

Walmart?

So here is one of the links where the old packaging cropped up. Alternatively google "Walmart byotrol". Some words of caution as to why this might not be current:
o Old packaging (32 oz, unscented)
o Out of stock
o No mention of coronavirus

Also it doesn't seem to be linked in to other searches on the Walmart site, such as "floor cleaners", but interesting all the same to see it on a Walmart listing.

There is a late reported 200k sell at 1530hrs at 5 .755 which triggered the bid drop fom 5.75p to 5.60p

Yes, they originally launched 32 oz bottles in "unscented" and "lemon". They then got the 2 new scents ("Lavender Morning" and "Hawaiian Sunrise Citrus") and reduced the bottle size to 25 oz. Each time they changed the formula though, even if it was just the scent, I think they had to get EPA approval and I think also each state approval, so it was a long process. One of the bathroom products was a further scent ("Mountain Serenity") and I don't know if the labelling change to "bathroom disinfectant cleaner" would itself have needed approval.

What I find interesting is that the old packaging (32 oz unscented) has been cropping up in one or two (internet) places recently. Also a rather strange set of advert-type presentations has appeared on YouTube ("biodrill" anyone?). Do a google search for "byotrol24 is made for this" if the links below don't work. What's curious, apart from the voiceover, is that they link to the "out of stock" Amazon page for the unscented version and make no mention of coronavirus (both of which suggest they are dated), but they appear just to have been uploaded. Is it just a would-be influencer clearing out some forgotten videos, or is the "Michigan" moniker significant somehow (Alex Espalin did his MBA there is the only connection that I can find, which seems pretty tenuous)?

Didn't they reformulate some SKUs following feedback from Target/US trials?

Lavender Morning & Hawaiian Sunrise sound familar in that context
