But that article could be very relevant couldn't it? If even the majors can't get enough product on the shelves then doesn't that suggest there is no spare production capacity? As I understand the business model, byotrol produces by tolling through (i.e. renting capacity in) an existing production facility - but if all those facilities are full then even if it can sort out raw materials and distribution it still can't produce unless it builds new facilities, which obviously takes much longer than just renting capacity in an existing one. It also changes the nature of the partnership if they have to find a partner to support the capital cost of new production facilities and not just sales and marketing. And majors, who already have their own production facilities, may not see the sense in partnering with byotrol right now if it means cutting back on the production of existing products to create space for byotrol24.

That doesn't mean there isn't a great deal to do in the US, but it might mean that byotrol would be better focusing on markets where they can access existing production capacity.

Or of course it could be completely irrelevant and it's a completely different reason why a US deal hasn't yet been announced!

1gw,

I'm sure it's not easy but what a missed opportunity.

I look forward to a detailed explanation, but more importantly a way forward.

Walmart?

So here is one of the links where the old packaging cropped up. Alternatively google "Walmart byotrol". Some words of caution as to why this might not be current:
o Old packaging (32 oz, unscented)
o Out of stock
o No mention of coronavirus

Also it doesn't seem to be linked in to other searches on the Walmart site, such as "floor cleaners", but interesting all the same to see it on a Walmart listing.

Yes, they originally launched 32 oz bottles in "unscented" and "lemon". They then got the 2 new scents ("Lavender Morning" and "Hawaiian Sunrise Citrus") and reduced the bottle size to 25 oz. Each time they changed the formula though, even if it was just the scent, I think they had to get EPA approval and I think also each state approval, so it was a long process. One of the bathroom products was a further scent ("Mountain Serenity") and I don't know if the labelling change to "bathroom disinfectant cleaner" would itself have needed approval.

What I find interesting is that the old packaging (32 oz unscented) has been cropping up in one or two (internet) places recently. Also a rather strange set of advert-type presentations has appeared on YouTube ("biodrill" anyone?). Do a google search for "byotrol24 is made for this" if the links below don't work. What's curious, apart from the voiceover, is that they link to the "out of stock" Amazon page for the unscented version and make no mention of coronavirus (both of which suggest they are dated), but they appear just to have been uploaded. Is it just a would-be influencer clearing out some forgotten videos, or is the "Michigan" moniker significant somehow (Alex Espalin did his MBA there is the only connection that I can find, which seems pretty tenuous)?

Didn't they reformulate some SKUs following feedback from Target/US trials?

Lavender Morning & Hawaiian Sunrise sound familar in that context

The bathroom products were in the works for quite a while riddlerone - and I did notice on 5th February this year that the "coming soon" tag had been removed. I don't know whether that was in time to get them on any Target shelves though.

Must be a large seller lurking in the background. The offer is steadily falling.

Really got the skids under it at the moment. Very disappointing. Presumably some big sells in the system.

Feels like we're waiting for the promised TU to give detail on how FY20 finished and more importantly how FY21 is looking. I hope that includes commentary on what has happened in the US with the search for a partner for byotrol24 and if they have decided to pursue other opportunities ahead of the US then it would be good to see that explained.

THE cheapest, widest spectrum, Covid related investment is TERN(closed at 7.5p Friday)

With Government supported initiatives ranging from the online ventilator training tool (FVR)launched to help medics through to its engagement with Public Health Authorities and Governments to detail how Wyld Mesh technology can be used to support digital contact tracing(also in talks with Apple and Google);the potential for TERN's investee companies to assist(and to catch public imagination)is boundless.

The icing on the cake with TERN is that Microsoft is due to showcase its growing engagement with Device Authority(50% owned) on April 29th.

BUY !!

OT : QS99, you mentioned that "At less than £5m valuation, this (MWG) is surely the cheapest Covid-19 play out there." Not so....:o))

REAT has a mere £1.9m m/cap, yet has just turned profitable, has recently stated it';s trading ahead of expectations and has a healthy cash pile. It's a specialist in professional decontamination and deep cleaning for the NHS etc. Worth a look imho - I've just started a new thread:
