THe problem with plain/plane sailing is that it has absolutely nothing to do with this share which exhibits anything but!! What we need is for the shares to move above 730p to break a year long downtrend and put us back on an even plane

The problem with "plain sailing" is that it makes no sense. As opposed to what? "Pretty sailing", "flavoured sailing"? It's a bit like "tow the line" rather than "toe the line". Both may be acceptable on the basis of common usage or "we know what you mean" but only one makes senseYesterdays 8% dip and bounce really was a gift.

A plane is a flat surface or a flying object. Plane sailing, only when there is no wind? I "complane".

I realise in Canada not US but the indebted basket case Cineworld lost a case against Cineplex (in canada) where Cineplex were awarded $C1.23bn. Cineworld has appealed it and they don't have to pay a dime until the appeal is heard which they say will be at least another year (18m from first decision).

Obviously a different duristiction but an example of not having to lodge funds when you lose before appeal.

But either is permitted with sailing in English.

Just to finish the point though, plain and plane are different words with different meanings. A plane being a flat surface.

"Then came the churches then came the schools
Then came the lawyers then came the rules"

Lawyers came after schools, but before rules :-)

Just to prove my lawyer credentials I will correct Flare on his spelling. It's "plane" sailing, not "plain". The idea is that navigation is simple if you treat the globe as flat

loglorry1,

Re your "you can assume YPF and the state are one and the same" comment:

That may be the case but whilst companies come, go and get taken over (some even go bankrupt - would you believe it!), the Argies government will remain in place. In the event that they do loose the case (which they will), failure to pay the American Courts decision would only mean more heartache for them.

P.S.

Additionally and as per the script, today's share price drop filled the gap created between 08/09 Mar 2022 (down to 651p). It should now be plain sailing from here on. Lol.
