Kirkie001, in this respect, they do look forward, as to prospective future earnings as a going concern (AIM Requirement), Yes, Auditors have passed the accounts. Then many auditors have passed other bankrupt companies, who gets the bullet? Shareholders!

I see Burford is drifting still - LIKE I PREDICTED IT WOULD OVER A YEAR AGO.

I was laughed at then. Still laughing?

LOL

"Just bought another £60k of these at 753-755. Bargain of the century."

Looks like an even better bargain now.

I honestly don't like to see people losing money which they've probably had to earn by working, but my advice here is that we should all be very careful when we boast about our successes and perceived successes, especially before they even start to come about.

Just keep your bragging to yourself.

One other aspect that may slow things is the nature of portfolio financing. BUR is probably reliant upon firms to update them on progress but there are likely to be multiple cases and partners involved and getting quick responses isn't easy.

Auditors don't look forwards???

Can you trust the Auditors? They make a subjective view on what could happen, not what will. The view should be on current state of finances and cases in hand! Thereby giving true picture of what you have, and the possibility of gamble on future prospects, just like any other AIM outfit.

Thought £7 was a reasonable price, seems not now. Bonds have recovered, for how long?

Since they plan to buy £4m of shares for the incentive scheme then any increase in the current share price is a disadvantage. Also I suppose the only thing they could report at the moment is the present cash position. Anything about the valuation needs studying and confirming by the auditors.

We can add an update on the Norwich Pharmacal application to stuff that we've not been told about. Normally such applications are quick so that's a bit odd. Doesn't help to rebuild trust.

According to FSA (shorts 3 Jan 2020), Bur @ 1.06%. Seems no change from Oct 17 2019, when it rose from 0.5%.

Many changes in Bur, but refute seems futile to date.

Take your chances.

No offence

Muddy Waters take a long and very detailed examination before they publish their reports, they need to because of the damage that can be inflicted on the holders of the stock. Otherwise they would end up being confronted with class action lawsuits, spend more time and money than they could possibly conjure up themselves, if they are capitalising purely on the falls to their financial advantage!

It needs news, rather than plans. The plans are all good, but the market wants to see that they have turned into actions. 5 months on, they really should have made board appointments, given a trading update and filed with the SEC. But, if they do deliver, the delay will be forgiven by the market. They're just not trusted to deliver, that's the problem.

What have they got left in the box?
They have thrown all their best toys at it.
What's left now is the drift.

Am wondering if the reason for today's price fall is related to NMC - on the basis that if MW seem more likely to be right there then they are monre likely to be also right with Burford - not that I agree, but maybe that's the psychology of some people.

I think the share price is a response to investor fatigue and frustration that things have taken so long. Yes, you can say that it all looks good that we will be applying to SEC after results, but the doubters can say that there is no guarantee here will be a US listing. It feels like a pretty binary play to me: if results come out and are followed by news of a US listing then the share price will go ballistic as US demand will dwarf the UK market. But, if there is no US listing, the share price will be back in the creek. But big takeaway is surely that no shares will be created for US listing: indicates funding is not an issue. I would be surprised if shorters wanted to hold into results or much later, but who knows.
