12/1/2024 19:26 | Pretty significant and explains the move in US | nigelpm
12/1/2024 19:24 | Clearly pressure is mounting for the Milei Administration to address the $YPF judgment. Saravia Frias was Macri's General Counsel. In this article he said: - The chances of a successful appeal in the $YPF case are practically zero. - The consequences of lengthening the process can be severe for Argentina. Especially if Preska dictates a Pari Passu doctrine (which would force Argentina to pay Burford before paying back any non defaulted debt). - Argentina should stop insisting to the Judge they inherited a horrible economic situation. - Argentina will not be able to access capital markets with this case unresolved. - He thinks Burford might very well have something very valuable in mind when it comes to potential embargoes. | nigelpm
12/1/2024 18:18 | Beat me to it ! Interesting to see the story in the FT : from having been dismissive of BUR for a while, the FT has done a 'reverse ferret' and is now saying what a Good Thing litigation finance is... ..Alan Bates: Why I wouldn’t beat the Post Office today Litigation funding is vital in supporting ordinary people in their fight against corporate giants — now it is under threat GLA | extrader
12/1/2024 15:42 | Alan Bates’s next campaign is on behalf of Burford and other litigation funders, enabling them to carry on business in the UK! www.ft.com/content/1 | hohum1

12/1/2024 13:10 | Brigra has put a YouTube video on LSE. Seb speaks if you follow the instructions you get translated sub titles. It's Seb saying Argentina have to negotiate and pay but explaining it to a news crew that don't fully understand. Thank you Brigra | chester9
12/1/2024 12:57 | I'd rather have the jets than the snow ploughs. | laughton
12/1/2024 12:24 | Unbelievably, share price slightly down after confirmation that Burford and clients are now free to make recoveries. I'd like to see Burford claim some low hanging fruit, even if it's just crumbs at first (there must at least be some around the world,); maybe even some snow ploughs parked in front of (state owned) aerolineas Argentinas jets - sends out a message to Argentina and the market that this is now real, not a game any more. | time_traveller
11/1/2024 20:20 | Mr. Bogart and his team know his game very well indeed. That's why I'm invested here. Will be interesting to see the next twist | three black crows
11/1/2024 19:41 | Over to you BUR. | laughton
11/1/2024 19:10 | As predicted. | djderry

11/1/2024 17:33 | Probably only going one way for Burford now. | nigelpm
11/1/2024 17:33 | Off we go. JUDGE PRESKA CONFIRMS JANUARY 10 AS THE DATE THAT ARGENTINA NEEDS TO PLEDGE ASSETS TO AVOID THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE YPF JUDGMENT. AS OF THURSDAY, BENEFICIARIES OF THE YPF JUDGMENT CAN SEEK AND ATTACH ASSETS LOCATED IN THE US AND/OR OVERSEAS. | nigelpm

11/1/2024 12:43 | Any news from the Southern District of NY? | lomax99
10/1/2024 20:10 | Quite right time_traveller, there are no inheritance advantages on several AIM shares in addition to Burford Capital. Burford lost it when they became dual listed, on the LSE and the NYSE. Cheap to trade in and out of? Often worthwhile, I find. I pay just £5.95 commission per deal to Hargreaves if dealing over 19 times each month. The Burford put/offer spread can be very low on occasion and the prices more variable than makes immediate sense. Before one remembers that 38% of Americans have never ben out of their state, let alone abroad. | tomtrudgian
10/1/2024 19:39 | Would think it could come anytime now - doubt they'll specifically wait for AH although RNS will almost certainly come at 7am tomorrow unless there's nothing material to note. | nigelpm
10/1/2024 19:21 | No news still on today’s judge actions? Assuming after hours or do we think ? | syoun2
10/1/2024 16:41 | But no inheritance tax advantages with Burford on aim (but cheap to trade in and out - not sure if that's really advantageous for LTHs!) | time_traveller
