yes and was in profit, this happened to me with bdev, it went up before down and into profit, cant say i like it, picked up on some news article earlier saying something about a bond buyback share scheme, subscription site so unable to get exact details, i still think this is a dog but it seems the news has been well recieved.

Any thoughts or more info on that article?

buy backs in the long term benefit the share price ( IMHO)

in early part of 2004 BOOTS
rose from 650p to 750p
fell to 600p
rose to 680p
fell to 640p
rose to 690p
fell to 650p
rose to 700p
fell to 650p NOW then will rise or fall to ???

the only positive thing for BOOTS is that the RSI is oversold

seems it likes its 650 support level.

Flipping IG i would have taken a position at 653 had there system not blown a fuse.

end of day rise aye, little bull trap or some substance to this?

As for a bid i wouldnt have thought this side of xmas, should be able to make much cheaper bid in the begining of feb when there dismal festive trading is widely known.

Always be careful of bids with lame ducks - I was a little singed on M&S earlier this year. I can't see a UK bidder but Boots is well respected on the continent.

"Meanwhile, Boots plans to recruit an extra 4,500 people to work in its
stores this Christmas and is encouraging head office staff to muck-in on the
shop floor during the festive period.,.."

What for?!! Just more expense..

they have blown it.

Jedi,

trading update (i.e.) warning could come any day..they are on the verge of capitulation!!

Drugs-r-us...should give them a ring to put them out of their misery..

Target £5..!! (Then lower..)

Be lucky.

JS - that is what I did - you sell a call option (ie a promise to sell) for shares that you do not own (ie naked). I sold my naked call @ 700p. I am therefore short Boots.

indeed, i picked up on an article indicating a turnaround in high street spending in general, not boots specific and a subscription site so i couldnt retrieve the full article, just a blip i reckon and i dont expect boots to do well this xmas so i shall continue to observe and open a short some time soon.

you might well be right, im expecting it to go down but although i would prefer it to do so in a straight line it often does not work like that.

Besides IG's service is partially down and i cant deposit any money, and im not closing my BDEV short just yet.

it might bounce to 658-662p or so and then slip back

(it bounce from 640p level in Jun and hit nearly 700p before slipping back)

mini bounce as i expected, i shall continue to observe, monitor and wait like a silver mongoose waiting to pounce!
