15/4/2023 08:22 | But these will be the most profitable results in the company’s history. | tim000
14/4/2023 21:40 | Nearly always tend to go down on results but hope I’m wrong | bisiboy
13/4/2023 19:27 | Me too. £26m mcap will look extremely cheap when the results are realised imo. | gaffer73
13/4/2023 16:49 | I added a few earlier in the week on that reasoning. | tim000
13/4/2023 09:48 | A few buys this morning. People getting in before the results? | gaffer73
29/3/2023 08:40 | Yes, I agree. Higher dividends is the way to go, following other coal miners. Best to stick to their knitting and return surplus capital to shareholders…w | tim000
29/3/2023 08:31 | RNS out - John Heller of LAS (41% owner of BISI) joins the board. He'll be a voice for a bigger dividend payout, I'm confident. | tigerbythetail
27/3/2023 14:14 | The more I learn about wind energy the more I’m certain it’s a fraud. There are no viable alternatives to oil, gas and coal for cheap and reliable energy. But we still have to suffer violent swings in energy prices in the short term. | tim000
27/3/2023 14:01 | THG results today , Total Divi 100 rand....share price goes down ! Difficult to calculate fwd profit as Discount to RBCP about 17%....However on Webcast , they were very postive about OZ purchase of large coal mine and future demand for coal.Dakas. | 8gggggggg
26/3/2023 12:37 | Exxaro has published its annual results. Hard to read across much to BISI. Exxaro confirms rail logistical problems for exports to RBCT, which it has ameliorated by trucking and exporting via other ports. Recent falls in export prices have made trucking less economically viable. Domestic prices have held up much better than export prices this year, which is good news for BISI obviously given that the majority of our sales are to domestic customers. Metallurgical coal prices have recently exceeded thermal coal prices, as the latter have softened. What we don’t know is the extent to which BISI has flexibility to switch supplies from the thermal to the metallurgical market, given most of BISI’s exports are of coking coal spec (and some of its domestic sales too). | tim000
25/3/2023 19:13 | A small point. I’ve discovered that Bisichi acquired its new coal reserves from Seriti, a major, black-owned independent coal miner which has acquired large coal mining operations from South32, amongst others. This was mentioned by Vunani in a results presentation last year. So it’s public knowledge, but not announced by BISI! Annual Results likely to be announced on Friday 28 April, just under 5 weeks away. Cashflow from operations in the first half of the year was used primarily to increase the company’s equity investments, and to pay down some bank borrowings. In the second half, they might accumulate cash for future investment in new projects. I’ve seen nothing about what projects they have in mind. | tim000
13/3/2023 06:30 | We need to be patient here. The stock market is not rational and thats the opprtunity.A market cap of roughly .6 trailing earnings and in my best guess a forward p/e of around 2 for a company with little or no debt does not make sense to me but what do i know.As i have said before i hold petrobras and ecopetrol, petrobras are paying a dollar this time for the quarterly dividend and ecopetrol $2.5 split into three payments. Both petrobras and ecopetrol shares are around $10.Final dividend is what matters here as i am convinced the only way to make money out of these fossil fuel energy stocks is to recoup your initial purchase price back through dividends and then your shares are a free carry going forward.Lets remenber here as well production should have improved over the last six months which will have dropped the cost of a mined ton considerably and the rand has been weak which will also have helped. Not enough to have offset the price of coal but it will have helped.GLA | andydaf
10/3/2023 15:17 | Hopefully, could do with something to lift the share price | gaffer73
09/3/2023 17:37 | Imho BISI full year should be roughly double the half-year results; TGA was consistent with that. | tim000
09/3/2023 13:36 | I think the high share price puts people off, if this traded at 25pps the mcap would be a lot higher than 24m. | gaffer73
09/3/2023 13:33 | Cheap as chips. | gaffer73
09/3/2023 12:28 | TGA updated today for year end 2022 results as expected were good.Although last years in the past will be very suprised if Bisi full year ebitda is less than 35million.With improved mining rates even at todays coal price i believe Bisi is trading on a forward p/e less than 2.As always GLA | andydaf
24/2/2023 10:51 | That should read next Tuesday, 28 February. | tim000
23/2/2023 14:48 | Our Black Wattle partner Vunani should be announcing their annual results next Wednesday. They’ve already said they expect to update the market on their plans to invest in renewables; if this is via a JV with BISI then obviously BISI should be making a Trading Update at the same time, hopefully including something on their 2022 results. We all know the company couldn’t be more parsimonious wrt its transparency, but we are owed something on BISI’s strategy towards future investment in renewables in SA. | tim000
03/2/2023 16:16 | Big vote of confidence in thermal coals future today by July over at TGA.This sunday marks the end of the new year celebrations in china and so we should see a pick up in demand across many commodities.Dividend received today in my account with hopefully a larger one to follow later in the year. With the chairman passing i wonder whether the family will now try to take Bisichi and LAP private by way of a tender offer. As always GLA | andydaf
01/2/2023 16:01 | They will but the timeline is quite a long time away. If everyone bought an electric car tomorrow we would not have enough electricity to run them. Wind and sun cannot be guaranteed all the time so gas will be used for at least 30 to 40 years | robizm
01/2/2023 11:29 | Do you think there would be a chance more and more countries will move into clean energy rather than relying on coal? If so there could be demand for clean energy companies and their products like cmg cleantech and fuelcell making them a fantastic opportunity? | o92mlboa
31/1/2023 20:51 | Yes, sad news. | gaffer73 |
