It is important to look at numbers and timescales up to a point.
But more important at this stage is whether they are going to succeed and whether there is a market for their product.
This is not just a bet on the Company, the product, the management or the gaming sector but a bet on a completely new category of advertising!

This is the speculative stage where you either make a lot of money, if it's successful,or you don't, depending on your pot.

To my mind it's already achieved substantial milestones and I thirst for companies that are just at the start of their journey, but look as if they could be tomorrow's clear winner.
If it was a dead cert you would never be able to get it for thirty pence a share!

I believe they have the creativity, the resources and the drive and enthusiasm to do it do you?

Roley

You’re using a fairly standard cash flow forecasting template. This is fine. However, I would argue that the information available is so limited that any attempt to work out costs and revenues is highly speculative. You may differ and see a benefit.

I agree that costs may well be higher given the company is accelerating rapidly. I also agree with you that as long as this is being spent effectively, it is not something to fear.

Magli - Maybe I have written it poorly, but I am saying that I am aware of one advisor who has legal experience but they undoubtedly will be using more legal people.

Bids as a new business will require a lot of documents in place and I would like to think most are done.

Roley,
Thanks for the response, I did wonder if I was underdoing it on costs.

The 4.5m you have for H1 seems a bit high perhaps given they had only spent 3.5m between September until the placing in May - suggesting perhaps 2m spent in 2019 until the placing.
Your figure would imply another 2.5m spend from mid May until end of June which seems high although I imagine they would have been waiting on some cash from the placing before committing to more spend.

I would like them to keep a reasonably good eye on costs though.
I worked for a dot com back in the 2000/2001 and we gorged on VC money, hired lots of high quality/salary staff (except me of course :)and then opened offices around the world with staff flaying business class. It wasn't sustainable without further funding rounds.

I don't see that with bidstack yet (although the costs are mounting up in this key phase) but something to keep an eye on.

Anyway I'll revisit my costs.
We should find out H1 results too which will help with this.

Roley "- Legal costs - They have one advisor who is legal but any new business requires contract review etc.,"
If only one Legal advisor there's the hold up !
Really depends on how good they are & how pragmatic because having worked with various legal counsels and attorneys they can make or break a business.

Hi Homebrew...
I have a number of start-ups going on currently so I look to assess how the company would spend...

The core would be as follows:-
- Salaries
- Contractors (likely developers outsourced)
- Consultancy (again I gather they have outsourced providers)
- Office space (they are growing so must have taken more square footage - there original office at Plexus was fairly small and housed maybe 10 - 12 people)
- Rates and office maintenance
- Legal costs - They have one advisor who is legal but any new business requires contract review etc.,
- Professional fees - audit, accounting and broker fees (Likely at least 5% fee for the raise - so at least £250,000 but with legal fees maybe closer to £350,000)

Then I have pencilled in costs of sales:-
- Conferences - They cost and Bidstack have been active
- Travel - (I gather 13/14 of the team were at E3 for example)
- Expenses

Any business with a great opportunity has to spend to drive the business forward quickly. It causes me no issues them spending and spending high so long as the progress and revenues are on track.

Just my views of course but we shall see.

RoleyBirkin - is that based mainly on salaries?
Have you got a brief illustration of how you got that figure to share?

Thanks

McFly and Homebrew,
I think the company is burning more cash than you think....

I have still got £1.5m pencilled in for the 6 months to end June
I have costs at around £4.5m

I see costs rising to maybe £6m 2nd half....

An investor knows that the longer it stays low - the more they can buy!

If you aren’t convinced about the potential you shouldn’t be here.

The delay also could coincide with summer holidays, anyone of them could be enjoying a well earned break from the lawyers to JD himself.

BIDSTACK FM18/19 revenue (my projections):The Company generated revenues, of over GBP300,000  from 19 September 2018 (admission to AIM) to the year ended 31 December 2018.Bidstack's platform went live in both FM18 and FM19 in 2018.FM18 starts pulling in revenue from 19 September 2018 (from admission to AIM).FM19 starts pulling in revenue from 02 November 2018 (game launched).FM18/19 (combined) with 100% up more players than September figures for fm18 (alone) with online players, for the months of November and December. Source Steam Data.FM18 & FM19 to 31.12.2018 ( financial year end) pulled in a revenue of GBP300k. (For 3 months).Extrapolating those numbers (Steam online gamers data/revenue) would equate to revenue of GBP120k per month, GBP720k H1 / GBP1.44m FY2019 from FM18 and FM19.Just trying to get a rougth idea of revenue going forward of fm18/19 only... please DYOR...

Complaining about timing ! JD is like any normal business leader giving timings. They all expect things to happen tomorrow but in real life it doesn't.
Do any of you actually do legal settlement contracts ? I do and it takes bloody ages even with the best will in the world because on both sides lawyers are trying to cover liabilities, the business development guys maximizing their companies benefit, finance people are concerned on mechanics of payment etc etc. It can take months just to sign a confidentiality agreement depending on who they are negotiating with. If Bids just rolled over to sign things they will get screwed and we wont do as well as we should. The harder they can negotiate ( bringing in senior guys who have done these things will help) the better our future.

I was going to say above that i think when we get the figures, hopefully in the next couple of weeks, JD will update of the progress with deals in the pipeline, and how things are panning out. I am like most looking forward to the announcement!
