Re RNS

"As a business smart metering market leader, our expertise in supporting retail customers helps us to fully understand the customer's needs and effectively manage both the initial infrastructure deployment plan and their ongoing data requirements to help them fulfil their goals."

Thomas Cook should be a good client that's using most of the BGBL capabilities for everyone to see ........

Ignis

The last RNS 24/06/10 after the Placing'Offer they are showing Ignis buying 2042823 shares and have a total of 5992513 shares . So they must have had 3949690 shares before the RNS . Yet at their last RNS before the Placing 12/05/10 they had 5747513 shares ! So they must have sold 1797823 shares when the share price was 40p and starting to go down more .

This wasn't reported and on the their last RNS they forgot to fill in the "Situation Previous to the Triggering Transaction"

They sold a chunk to help cover their buy in to the Placing and don't they look great for doing it ! This stopped most people from taking up the offer as the share price was forced downwards through the sell off .

Near the bottom of the page ....... :-(

I've always got half an eye on bgbl - interesting sector relevant to my investments. Massive growth potential.

I hope you guys are keeping half an eye on Cyan Technology (CYAN)(?) and hope you don't mind me mentioning it here (?). Tiny Cambridge-based fabless microcontroller outfit trading on AIM, starting to move up from recent lows. A minnow of minnows if there ever was one.

They are targeting their wares at this sector - in particular remote utility metering and remote industrial/residential/commercial lighting markets.

They have been at the trialing stage for some time: Europe, India, Africa and China.....as well as in the U.S. According to the company, the product has outperformed and meets all the demands of their potential customers. They are waiting for orders and seem confident of orders. BOD have all added shares just recently ahead of a closed period, two insti's have come aboard and the company has recently won a small (but potentially significant) tender in India for utility metering.

I 'sense' they have a strong pipeline. The shares will do well if/when volume orders arrive though the bod concedes timing is uncertain. Definitely one to get on the monitor and watch.

Clearly not without risk, but with a decent product and a huge mkt in its infancy, the potential is clearly there.

1.15p // £7.3M

Risk/reward, I'm in. Mid term view.

ADYOR.

I understand the competitive landscape is important - but the reality is that BGBL do not have a problem with their order book. The other unknown is how quickly the overall market will grow.

For BGBL the challenge is to scale up profitable delivery.

No ridicule . If Bgbl are agents for EDMI (EDMI European Office and Partner), how much business are they doing or going to do with Stark , NPower , Imserv , and share price dataserve (Scottish Power) with the HH meters ?

You are actually asking how much of a competitor Stark and share price dataserve are to BGBL are you not? It is difficult to see and I agree we need to get a better handle on how many smart meter installers there are for Business/Commercial hourly and half hourly metering and how much of that market BGBL control!

BGBL have also developed and tested a domestic smart meter for private consumer use and again it is not clear how many competitor products there are.

Verdantix Says Competition Is Hotting Up In The Battle To Conquer Europe's Sustainable Telecoms Market
Monday, 12 July 2010

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"London, UK. July 12, 2010. Three telecoms operators – AT&T, BT and Orange – lead the European market for sustainable telecoms solutions and corporate sustainability performance, according to a new report from independent analyst firm Verdantix. The four month study of the entire portfolio of sustainable telecoms solutions offered by Europe's 17 largest telecoms operators across Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the Nordics, Portugal and Spain, finds that customer demands for improved performance on sustainability criteria have triggered a big increase in investment by a few telecoms operators but many of their competitors lag far behind."

"Business objectives like energy efficiency, natural resource metering and travel cost reduction create opportunities for telecoms operators to increase sales of sustainable telecoms offerings" commented Verdantix Director, David Metcalfe. "Astute executives at firms like AT&T and Orange have woken up to the market opportunity. Leading telcos have boosted investment in marketing the sustainability benefits of their services and developed exciting new propositions such as smart metering, mobile handset recycling and machine-to-machine remote monitoring for water, fuels and human health."

"AT&T, BT and Orange lead the sustainable telecoms market. These three telecoms providers lead the European market due to their executive leadership of the sustainability programme, a vision for how they will support customers' sustainability goals, a broad portfolio of best-in-class sustainable telecoms offerings and more budget allocated to marketing sustainability benefits. AT&T, BT and Orange are positioned to win market share in fast-growing markets like smart meter connectivity and telepresence."
