02/11/2023 18:20 | RW...your sort are 2 a penny at BAES. Don't for one second think that you are not. Let me work you out.... You spent many years in the RAF, most of that time supping tea and getting fat in the Sergeant's mess (you most certainly don't sound like on Officer's Mess type)...never having seen any real service in theatre. Am i correct RW? Then BAES took pity on you after you retired...but only because quota's to take on RAF has beens was (probably) part of the deal for some UK contracts. You were taken on as an Engineer (even though you don't have an Engineering degree) at a non managerial level, where the Company knew that your incompetance will not be able to cause too many problems. So, along with the RAF pension funded by the uk taxpayer (despite having not seen any conflict), you were further fattened by the BAES (more indirect uk taxpayer money) salary. And now you sit on a laptop in your bedroom visiting aviation forums and trying to show other similar minded types how clever you are. How close am I RW? Surprisingly close? Case White? Somebody in your position didn't know the half of it. VC10 retirement....PMSL!! | ohdearohdearohdear
02/11/2023 17:28 | ODear3. You are a bit sad. FYI, 30 years RAF, 16 BAE. Last 5 years in RAF based at Warton to get what the RAF wanted and not what BAe (as it was then) wanted to give us. Are you aware of what Case White was or the MR2 enquiry? I was involved in both and MRA4. Not that its any of your business but my last BAE Job was involved in the MoD and Industry retirement of the late great VC10 fleet. That was a fantastic learning curve seeing what & how aircraft were built almost 70 years ago and seeing the tools, rigs & jigs being destroyed. I'v seen the night shift sleep, sorry, work patterns at both Warton & Samlesbury and was amongst the last to leave Chadderton. Guess you must be in Commercial. | ribblewader
02/11/2023 17:18 | ....great, I reckon a job in PR or maybe at the United Nations would be ideal Mr Rodbender1 | neilyb675
02/11/2023 15:42 | Do you struggle with comprehension RW? You said: "If KSA buys Rafale over Typhoon I dont think it will be a huge hit to BAE as they are the sales man and only part of the manufacturing team." That is your nonsense sentence that i am telling you is wrong. It WILL be a huge hit....because they are prime. What part of that are you struggling with? And it is not only manufacturing....it is support. What part of that are you struggling with? As for Germany not supplying the parts, blah, blah, blah. Not only is that nothing to do with your quote above, but is clearly well above your paygrade to understand. Let me guess. You were an engineer at Warton/Salmesbury for decades? Sitting in the same office doing the same pointless work year after year after year until the pension came into effect? That work was funded by the taxpayer anyway, so nobody cared in the slightest if it was good, bad or indifferent....you just booked those hours "worked" and nobody looked at it, or cared about it? If so, that explains why you haven't got the foggiest about how government to goverment military contracts really work. Not the foggiest. | ohdearohdearohdear
02/11/2023 13:52 | ohdear3. The Typhoon support, if KSA select Typhoon will follow a tailored support package which will likely be run at Warton/Samlesbury. Of course BAE will be paid "lots of money" to put them together (Warton OR KSA) but if Germany maintains its block on exports to KSA it wont! As for Prime and Non-Prime, having spent time on a number of a/c and navy projects in NW and Bristol I think I know what is what. RW | ribblewader
02/11/2023 12:41 | RW. You don't know what you are talking about. As prime in the KSA campaign, BAE will manage the support contract....and get paid lots of money for the privilege. And, because they are the prime, they will also assemble the jets... and get paid lots of money. As non prime, they will manufacture their parts of course....but they wouldn't assemble. What part of that is confusing you? So they are not "only a part of the manufacturing". I suggest you do a bit of research on the difference between Prime (as they are on KSA) and non Prime (as they are in Kuwait). Maybe then you will realise that it would be a huge hit if they lost the 54. | ohdearohdearohdear
02/11/2023 11:04 | ohdear3. BAE will put the parts together which are delivered from partner nations, which includes Germany! A fleet of aircraft will always carry a support contract. Rafale will meet the requirements by tailoring what they already have, so will BAE if its Typhoon | ribblewader
02/11/2023 09:47 | "If KSA buys Rafale over Typhoon I dont think it will be a huge hit to BAE as they are the sales man and only part of the manufacturing team." Not true. BAES will be the lead on KSA...meaning they will not only get to build more of the aircraft but will also get the lucrative support contract. So it will be a blow. | ohdearohdearohdear
02/11/2023 09:07 | RW I like your optimism about peace breaking out. Rather depends on the definition of War but currently 21 Armed Conflicts causing greater than 1000 deaths in past year. Maybe I will keep holding! | wad collector
02/11/2023 08:54 | Last sale was 10.70. Trying to hold on till 12 quid for the next one. Trading update due any day now I think. | chiefbrody
02/11/2023 08:53 | Wad, sold out all of my holdings in early August. Not yet bought back in, but will be monitoring the share price I still think this could get to £15+ but will tumble quickly to below £10 when peace breaks out! If KSA buys Rafale over Typhoon I dont think it will be a huge hit to BAE as they are the sales man and only part of the manufacturing team. Germany not allowing military exports to KSA is a risk but i am not sure that Rafale is a real threat though. A lot of "change" would be required to support them. | ribblewader
01/11/2023 21:43 | Hardly worth mentioning but now at ATH. Who fancies a bit of profit taking? RW ,I think you sold quite a lot at the spring peak, did you manage to get back in? I sold some way too early last yr but maybe time to unload some? | wad collector
01/11/2023 19:57 | Nope. KSA will buy either 54 Rafael... or 54 Typhoons. | ohdearohdearohdear
01/11/2023 11:51 | Yes curently 54 Rafale. The MOU signed in 2018 was for 48 Typhoon & blocked since by Germany If the French get their foot into Saudi that is bad news. Wait & see. | rodbender1 |
