30/1/2024 20:55 | The people who brought the Berlin Wall down clearly had very little understanding of why it was built in the first place. Now more than ever exists an urgent need to reinforce defences and increase spending on the UK military. | f56
30/1/2024 20:40 | That’s after all the atrocities that Russian soldiers are known to have executed. | f56
30/1/2024 19:45 | Five years ago Corbyn’s intented policy was to teach British children just how bad the British history of imperialism has been. Today, in contrast, Putin is teaching Russian children just how great Russian imperialism has been. | f56
30/1/2024 19:28 | That’s excellent news. The British government{s} have just about disregarded everything else that represents Britain. But at least they have held onto their golden share of BAE. It might just be well worth holding onto. 👍 | f56
30/1/2024 10:10 | BAe Systems is one of very few world class British businesses. The govt's golden share means it won't be bought out by Lockheed Martion/Raytheon/Nor | rech
30/1/2024 09:49 | Neily, the other consideration is sell because you can buy back cheaper soon .. | wad collector
30/1/2024 08:47 | 2023 Prelim results 21 Feb 2024. BAE Systems receives 418 million contract for M109A7 Self-Propelled Howitzers and M992A3 ammunition carriers. BAE Systems has received a $418 million contract from the U.S. Army to produce and deliver additional sets of M109A7 Self-Propelled Howitzers and their companion, the M992A3 ammunition carriers. The contract, which was awarded in November 2023, extends the period of performance with vehicle deliveries through 2025. | ribblewader

29/1/2024 18:18 | Doubling submarine production at Barrow will help. Anyone selling either needs the money now, or can't see the opportunity BAE has on its plate. £20 is definitely feasible. | neilyb675
29/1/2024 17:47 | Looks to me like the upwards trend is securely in place. Indeed it became steeper last July. Whilst that continues I see no reason to topslice. One of the things I've learnt in my investing career is to let my winners run. Most of the mid-trend top slicing I've ever done was too early, sometimes way too early. To mix my metaphors, BAe looks to me to have a strong tailwind and a very deep moat. I am optimistic of it powering ahead for years to come. I suppose we have Mad Vlad to thank for that. Having bought in at £7, my interim target is £14 and that looks entirely feasible. | tournesol
29/1/2024 11:02 | Hitting some integer resistance at £12. I only need 1199 to reach my limit order to topslice. | wad collector
24/1/2024 20:47 | OK so I got to the part where Patrick Sanders says that Russia want to destroy our way of living. OK, well if that is the case the answer is simple. It’s called a pre-emptive nuclear strike. Alternatively, you could boost military spending to 5% of GDP instead of 2%. That would be closer to where Thatcher had it. It still probably wouldn’t match Russia’s though. | f56
24/1/2024 20:06 | Just noticed an article saying that Patrick Sanders was prepared to resign if cuts to the army were made. | f56
24/1/2024 19:46 | Or perhaps he is calling on the UK civilian population to fight because he knows that the UK army aren’t capable. | f56
24/1/2024 19:17 | Who is this Patrick Sanders on the BBC who is calling for civilian army volunteers to join up in the UK. Is he not aware of the military situation as it stands? The last thing you need is some sort of civilian army to protect the citizens of the UK. | f56
23/1/2024 16:41 | BAE Systems successfully tested its Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) prototype during a recent live fire demonstration. As part of a collaborative effort with Moog, these positive results exemplify opportunities for future capability growth within the purpose-built modular framework of the AMPV platform. | ribblewader
22/1/2024 16:06 | Rheinmetall BAE Systems wins Challenger 3 modular armour contract in UK RBSL has secured a contract from the UK Ministry of Defence to provide a new modular armour system for the Challenger 3 tank, which will enhance its survivability and counter modern threats. | ribblewader
22/1/2024 08:42 | I dont understand why they would budget in new share buy backs at these levels, just finish off what they already budgeted. | ribblewader
21/1/2024 20:07 | I'm not keen on the idea of share buybacks given the current share price of BA. It does have lots of reinvestment opportunity, however, so I think that's where it should be redirected. | blippy3
21/1/2024 07:15 | For me QQ fails the elevator pitch. I find it quite hard to say in a nutshell what they actually do. | tournesol
20/1/2024 16:38 | Could consider recycling some profits into QQ (I don't hold). It's cheap and gone nowhere in the last year. Analysts are forecasting 17% growth for 2024 and 10% growth for 2025. | blippy3
20/1/2024 13:24 | Impressed the share price is holding on to its recent gains given the mini collapse in the wider market over the last few weeks. Been hovering over the sell button to offload some more but couldn't bring myself to do it lol. | chiefbrody |
