I was thinking along those lines . My portfolio would look a bit sick without BA, RR and Melrose.

If all NATO members did spend .7% of GDP then I need to hold and be on the train when it leaves the station

Well decided to cash in 40% of position. Due to performance it was becoming a bit heavy in overall portfolio .

BAE Systems received $114 million in Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracts from the U.S. Army for AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems (CMWS).

CMWS is a combat-proven aircraft survivability system for rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft that integrates missile warning, hostile fire indication, and countermeasure controls. CMWS provides the U.S. and its allies with advanced threat detection and countermeasure control capabilities that protect aircraft and air crews who operate in hostile battlefield conditions.

I can't see them backing away from Typhoon. Maybe they'll buy some Rafale. And Saudi want in on Tempest whilst BAe need their orders.
Saudi air force needs a major upgrade within the next 6 years. Tornado will be retired. So pen to paper soon!

"You’ve bottled lightning, and now you’re accelerating towards the future with increasing velocity."

I'm sure Shapps didn't mean the pejorative form, but let's hope they don't "bottle" the Typhoon possibilities.

Lifted this from the RR. thread......

Rolls-Royce (LON: RR) and BAE Systems (LON: BA) are some of the best-performing FTSE 100 index companies in the past few months. RR shares have surged by more than 800% from its lowest point in 2020. This recovery happened as investors cheered the recovery of the civil aviation industry.

BAE Systems, on the other hand, has risen by over 230% from its 2020 lows. The two companies have rebounded as defense spending has jumped following the Russian invasion of Ukraine followed by the crisis in the Middle East.

Further, the ongoing fear that Russia will invade Ukraine has led to more spending by Western countries. Therefore, BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce will be in the spotlight this week as Saudi Arabia hosts the World Defense Show. This is an annual show that brings most companies in the industry to showcase their products and make deals.

BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce will be present at the event and analysts will be watching for potential announcements.

In a sudden change of plans, HMS Queen Elizabeth will not participate in the upcoming NATO exercise Steadfast Defender, due to a mechanical issue identified in the starboard propeller shaft.

The Royal Navy has promptly readied HMS Prince of Wales to fill in for her sister.

Malloy Aeronautics designs and supplies all-electric uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) to both civil and military customers. Their range of uncrewed, heavy lift quadcopters are capable of lifting payloads from 68kg to 300kg over short to medium range missions.

These platforms offer interchangeable capabilities and greater flexibility at a fraction of the cost and time of more traditional methods, whilst minimising risk to more expensive assets and human life.
