The acquisition is to be paid for by a combination of existing cash and new debt, no rights issue.

I'm recently new to this game, so someone help me. This deal sounds like an awful lot of money... are the shares down because of the prospect of a rights issue?

rech, I think Tournesol is correct. I notice it on many, but not all threads and you have been awarded one for 4926! Mind you, I tend to agree that 4926 deserved it in this instance.

Let's test tournesol's hypothesis.

A woman comes of the golf course and says to her friend, "I got bitten by a horsefly"
Her friend - "where?"
"Between holes 1 and 2".
Her friend says "I've told you your stance is too wide"

tournesol that was my original thought for the reason you post, however, you don't need to look too far back, just the previous page, to see not every post is down ticked. And just as we can't up tick our own post, they probably can't down tick their own post even if they wanted to. As I say it could just be coincidence.

The single consistent downtick appears on a number of boards. So think it's some kind of bot.

I must admit I wasn't expecting to get any upticks for just copying and pasting an article with a mildly positive broker target but was surprised at the downtick.

But then I noticed that every post appears to get a downtick and wondered whether it might be some automatic programme down ticking every post. But I noticed one post from a blue premium poster that wasn't down ticked and decided to look back a bit further and decided to stop when every other post since March has had a downtick.

It may just be a coincidence or it may be an individual with a very strong dislike of what BAE do, which is fair enough and I would rather live in a world where the last world war was really the war to end all wars but unfortunately that hasn't happened and doesn't look like becoming a reality anytime soon.

Deutsche Bank raises BAE Systems target price

Following the ‘better-than-expected’ half-year results from defence company BAE Systems (BAE) last week, Deutsche Bank analyst Christophe Menard has reiterated his ‘buy’ rating and raised the target price from £10.90 to £11.40.

The adjusted figure reflects the increased earnings, pre-tax profits and free cash flow guidance that implied 3%-5% upside and the extra three-year £1.5bn share buyback programme.

‘The jury is still out on possible M&A, but both the scale of the buyback and BAE’s commitment to remain disciplined on prices should ensure that the company approaches any transaction conservatively,’ Menard said.

Shares in the Citywire Elite Company nudged up 0.2%, or 1.8p, to £10.25 on Tuesday.

True. Many possibilities. Anything and everything will do. But for me it's the 'one' I have been holding for and the closest it's been from what I can see.
