Allianz is up 1% today - if they were bidding 16-18 billion for Aviva they would be down.

RS Group rose 15% 2 weeks ago on bid spec from the same website(tipping Aviva) and has now lost all the rise.

Throw in the director buys and sells recently - makes a bid very unlikely.

Well I can't speak for anyone else but I've been ALL IN on AV for about six months now. seemed like quite a low risk bet when I made it. my view was to keep them long term 2-3 years and hope for a buy out .. maybe the buy out will arrive soon? gla

Who knows, maybe a few offers will be presented and then Big Warren Buffett comes in through his Geico subsidiary and blows them out of the water with his massive cheque book and say a £10 per share offer! Just shrapnel to him, but he won't overpay.

In equity markets, Aviva surged amid speculation that two potential suitors were running a slide rule over the business, attracted by its excess capital and strong cash flow. According to The Times, there is talk that the likes of Germany's Allianz, Intact Financial Corporation of Canada and the Scandinavian group Tryg are considering their options, with at least one mulling a £6 a share proposal.An American insurer is also rumoured to be interested in Aviva.

I have given my views on this , no point arguing - next few weeks we will know who is right or wrong .

No no. As I said - I am a down to earth person unlike you all - just day dreaming and hoping . If you thought there would be a takeover and projecting the current price is so so cheap , why don’t buy more to take advantage of this golden opportunity but then you are scare to commit more - right ? Some of you really make me laugh , maybe Hope that keeps you going

Dollar very strong to the pound currently. Allianz, say offers £6.20. Yanks blow in with £7.50! Who knows. Should be much higher than this regardless. SO CHEAP CURRENTLY.

I too have av shares but I am realistic person .
