That was a lot of shares to sell (Richard Longdon CEO) and the price hasn't really moved. Did he sell those in the market or to a major holder? Also, when he buys back his 400000 that could cause quite a price hike.

Found the following on the company's own website:
"Thursday 5 December 1996 - Cadcentre Group plc enjoyed a successful first day of trading on the London Stock Exchange. Opening at the placing price of 200p, the shares quickly rose to a peak of 246½p and closed at 240½p."

So ipo price was 66.7p post 1-for-3 split. Based on last night's closing bid price of 903.5p, it works out that share price appreciation has been 26.4% p.a. Adding dividend, the total return is close to 27% p.a. since 5 December 1996 for a holder (acquiring shares at IPO price).

I first bought in May 2000 at 363.5 = 121.2 post split.

I have found an old document showing that in the 12 months to end 7/97 the price was between 195 and 279 (= 65 and 93).

ooof, can't remember. Actually, if I recall, they didn't do much for ages. Luckily I increased my holding 10x in 2004 though unfortunately took profits on half in the 6-8 quid range.

WJCCGHCC,
Holding a winner for over a decade! That's a feat few can emulate. Incidentally, do you remeber at what price the company (then CAD Centre) was listed back in Dec 1996?

if £7.50 doesnt hold then nearer £5.00 looks the mark imho.

Anyway it appears to have clawed its way back a little

and if 750 doesn't hold, I reckon we could see close to 600 in rapid succession... especially if that's a head and shoulders break at 900 last week.. dyor

charts indicate that this could be the bottom - if it breaks £8.00 then down it goes. Market conditions dictating as this is a good company

I guess the market is nervous about the development plans in these uncertain times, but it's been a splendidly run company so far. I see the drop as a buying op.

Thats why ; "Aveva Group Plc dropped 6.1 percent to 899 pence. The British maker of software used by oil companies including Exxon Mobil Corp. may spend as much as $430 million to acquire a company that will help it sell applications to the construction industry. "

Starting to buy back a few at 915p. Hopefully it will dip below 9 quid in the next few weeks.
