I agree with sharw's post about bridgewell preffering Aveva because of possible near term upgrades, my crystal ball shows me similar things, so I'm in with an initial stake, will buy more if it drops.

Many thanks for that sharw - reassuring.

PS: I didn't bother to do anything, too hot here (Cambodia) so had another beer instead.

You had to mention profit taking! Just kidding, I'm in from 215 so have a comfort zone. In similar small, quality company category, I'm belatedly looking at SWG, which a friend on the FT recommended some time ago, any of you guys in it? Think it's still got legs?

1000p will be an interesting, and very tempting point, as whether to take some more profit.

ajnk - I share your sentiments of course. And agree about the amount of posts a share receives. Without doubt over the last few years, the ones that have less posts are the most successful and the ones with the most usually go bust or may well have done.

Keep it quiet and dyor always pays, plus a few tip sfrom the pros of course, but not very often. I think I found avv in trendwatch tipsheet. I use TMI now and quite good if selective.

I have only been in since Sep 06 (@530), your early recognition and patience has been well rewarded, long may it continue. I have several other growth stocks (including a couple of debt management co's I wish I didn't have!), but none of them have such a consistent share price movement (in the right direction!). Compared with the volume of posts on some of the BB's such as SOLA etc. this is quietly climbing in a most impressive way. I am showing an annual rate of return of over 300%, hope that holds true for the full year (& beyond)

Been in since march 2004. While may pull back a bit, no reason why not another 5 years of good growth if the management stay the same.

I'm amazed a US firm hasn't snapped them up but would be a blow to UKplc if they did.

you will struggle to find a better graph than this (since Aug 2006. It is not too late!

I've been watching this share with a view to buy in when it drops back a bit
but it never does. If I had bought in when i first looked at it over two yeras ago I would have made a very hefty profit. Hindsight eh !

sharw - the way this is going I don't mind if they never issue a trading statement! Typically that might upset the current momentum and become an exit point rather than encouraging more buyers. But no chance of distribution at the moment here I suspect - only accumulation.

Phew, blast off again. This is now a four-bagger for me and showing no signs of slowing.

ajnk - sometimes Sharescope, which I also use, is late to update figures or should I say the company they use to supply data. Nevertheless, this ahs been one of my key holdings over the last 3 years and I'm not grumbling.

This is one of two UK companies that are world ranked in the top one hundred software firms and as such will always command a premium, until they loose their way, of which there is no sign at present.

PS: imo the eps figures are useless to base investment decisions on as there are few analyists involved. Look at last year. As ever dyor.

thanks, my figures are from Sharescope, which is an investment software package, including graphs & fundamental data. The data is recalculated automatically, where it relates to the share price, for example the P/E is now indicated as 67.68, compared with the 67.5 when I posted yesterday.

The EPS growth of 13.4% obviously represents the growth from 2005 (11.42) to 2006 (12.95), on my figures forward EPS growth 06 > 07 will be approx 100% based on forecast EPS of 26.59.

I am happy to wait patiently without any announcements, whilst the share price gradually continues its steadt rise. Things are bound to get a bit more interesting approaching the final results, when the market will judge is the share price has got ahead of itself.

we do seem to be a bit thin on the ground, compared with some of the other boards. I have been in since late September at £5.30, missed the big 100p rise in mid Sep, but can't complain at a 64% return in 4 months, looks even more impressive when viewed on an annualised basis (339% return!)

Whilst fundamentals are definately not my strong point, the graph looks more convincing than the figures
Sharescope indicates a P/E of 67.5, several of my other holdings have high P/E ratios but they also have very high EPS growth i.e. 100%+, AVV EPS growth indicated as only 13.4%, which I don't understand.
31/3/05 EPS 11.42
31/3/06 EPS 12.95
1/3/07 forcast EPS 26.59
06 > 07 looks more like 100% growth to me than 13%
PEG is not particularly attractive (0.64) due to low growth

Based on the graph alone, I am considering topping up, are there any fundamental gurus out there?

One of only 7 they have covered previously.
