13/11/2007 12:24 | Tempus in today's Times gives a hold: | sharw
12/11/2007 15:30 | Not an uncommon reaction for AVV given the advance since the trading statement. Was hoping it would come back to 10 quid so I could add but alas, not (yet). | wjccghcc
12/11/2007 15:04 | Supprised at the knock as results not that bad. But pretty bad day in general it seems, well on my folio at least | johnrxx99
12/11/2007 12:17 | BBJL, Big pile of cash? TIA $pong | spongman
12/11/2007 12:13 | looks great value given the growth, long at 1060p. Big pile of cash winging its way to shareholders shortly. | bigbobjoylove
11/10/2007 04:52 | Thanks Sharw. It is usually the best companies that are pricy becuase of their past and future prospects. I used to think buying the low pe stocks gave the best chance but that is of course far too simplistic. Horses for courses. I now let the management prove they are worth it and for the last 5 years this lot have. KIE is another I fancy at the other pe end but property has been out of favour but you can virtually guarantee the share price will be back one day. These drops really help real returns I'm pleased to say. Sorry for the waffle. | johnrxx99
05/10/2007 15:26 | Thanks. Also spotted it as a buy in the Indie - the last para addresses the 'overvalued' concern: Questor also has it as a buy in the telegraph: | sharw
05/10/2007 13:01 | Well spotted sharw. | johnrxx99
05/10/2007 12:07 | From today's Telegraph: "Aveva's bullish comments prompted a host of upgrades from analysts across the City. Landsbanki increased its earnings forecasts by 13pc per annum over the next two years. Numis Securities said: "Given the strength of trading that management report, we see room for further upgrades as the year progresses." | sharw
05/10/2007 11:38 | My comment was based on the fact you gave no reason for your opinion. Lets stick to facts and reason please. | johnrxx99
05/10/2007 09:51 | I'm glad I wasn't short more by luck than judgement - why is my post stupid it seems a very arrogant rude statement to make of course the price rise in hindsight makes it incorrect but it is based on logic - share prices dont rise for ever and on valuation grounds this is expensive it just depends whether you think the price premium is justified for a company with a very strong background and track record | ok,yah
04/10/2007 13:06 | Luckily sharw I did hold and topped up a little bit over the last few months. It's the oldest stock in my portfolio and the best performing as it's been ther longest. Regards exgrowth, I bet someone said that about Microsoft. The markets they serve are the growth areas of tomorrow so as long as they pay thier guys well and get the new ones why cant they continue to grow. Being based in Cambridge Business Park helps. They have no real competition, are rated one of the best IT firms in the world and beat expectaions every time. I hope ok,yah shorted as I don't like stupid posts. | johnrxx99
04/10/2007 12:31 | This company always produces good statements - if only I had kept the faith and bought more when when it touched 800 in the dark days of August! As it is, with the superb rise over the years it represents over a third of my portfolio value. One day this company will go ex-growth, but I think that is still quite a way in the future. | sharw
04/10/2007 07:51 | Today's statement says all markets strong and full year ahead of expectations. Observations ok,yah? | johnrxx99
28/9/2007 09:51 | looks a bit toppy - sideways trading at best IMO - I would sell at over 9.50 and maybe buy at about 8.00 if support holds as fundamentals suggest to me it is fairly valued | ok,yah
12/9/2007 11:48 | Have to say AVV has been looking very strong/resiliant again past week or so. I took my '3 Bagger' when the turmoil started to grip and have been in and out twice since. Currently not in and missed an opp a few days ago below 900 but am looking for a re-rentry point soon. Regrds and GL $pong | spongman
12/9/2007 03:20 | Quiteb a whoosh! Breakout soon one hopes | johnrxx99
31/8/2007 09:49 | we had a trading update on 15/09 last year, is the market looking forward to this ? | flyfisher
30/8/2007 16:58 | looks to back on an upward path HH | huwrayhenry
12/8/2007 05:29 | Lets hope the 800p support lives through Monday. | johnrxx99
10/8/2007 12:25 | Can't argue with that in this markets. Nice one. | wjccghcc
10/8/2007 12:14 | I'm out at 775, having bought at 218.Will rejoin when things calm down.Good luck to all. | hitchinhoncho |
