22/9/2006 11:45 | Is AVV followed by IC - anyone know? | spongman
20/9/2006 14:11 | well done both of you. We, well I, need a bit of sunshine in this market. I'm heavily into o&g and miners and we're a bit off today. But I'm in India eating myself to death so not very concerned. Good luck all. | johnrxx99
15/9/2006 11:15 | Had these since Jun 2000, and have massaged my holding up and down over time but always had a core holding - there aren't many managements with the long-term vision of AVV and the ability to implement it. The nice thing with SETSMM is that sometimes it can give you a stupidly cheap price - tripled my holding at 309-320p last month when SETSMM gave us a big dip - as did several others on this board I think. | wjccghcc
15/9/2006 10:53 | J I first bought into this company when it was Cadcentre for 'old money' £3.52p and hung onto them through the 9/11 slump when they became my first share to recover their losses. That's the good news. I sold out at £5.15 'old money' in 2004 on the strength of imminent 'good news' on another share, which I still hold at a 37% loss at present, fully intending to return to AVV as soon as the other boat came in. Since that time I have never regretted anything more and the old saying 'a bird in the hand..' keeps haunting me. Good luck to all of you who are with this excellent company. I wish I was still here to enjoy the day, not to mention all the other days since Feb 2004. Regards PF | peaeff
15/9/2006 09:21 | The same old beating expectations. Why this is so low profile is beyond me. The most solid UK software house and hardly anyone has heard of them, apart from us wise owls. Yippee!!! | johnrxx99
15/9/2006 06:41 | ....."materially ahead of its previous expectations"....."u Just how good can a trading statement get? For the record, at this moment consensus forecasts for earnings are: To 3/07 16.51 To 3/08 19.20 It will be interesting to watch how these change. | sharw
07/9/2006 09:50 | Well, we've come back nicely over the last few weeks. With St Ledgers upon us I hope we can continue in the face of negative musings in the market as a whole. | johnrxx99
02/9/2006 10:13 | Certainly can't hurt shuisky. Good finish to a good week. | johnrxx99
01/9/2006 06:44 | US Rival Intergraph INGR got taken out in a private equity deal yesterday. It will be interesting to see if this focuses institutional interest towards AVV, or even raises the prospect of AVV being taken out, since it's INGR is no longer available. | shuisky
30/8/2006 13:35 | Another day of large trades. Someone thinks they are worth holding. Still holding my above usual weight and may take some profits if we hit 400p in next few days otherwise will review in the light of news. | johnrxx99
21/8/2006 13:40 | Nice 25k buy. May the strength be with us. | johnrxx99
18/8/2006 09:44 | Likewise spongman. | wjccghcc
18/8/2006 09:43 | Likewise spongman. | wjccghcc
18/8/2006 08:50 | Full up for the moment spongman. Be interested to hear any feedback. | johnrxx99
17/8/2006 11:54 | Top up time this a.m.! Couldn't resist. Guess u still on Hols Jrx9? missed a bargain there. Will be talking to some guys at AVV today and should see a few next week. | spongman
14/8/2006 10:03 | Yup. It's nice when SETSMM fluctuations allow you a nice bargain :-) | wjccghcc
14/8/2006 09:30 | Now that's more like it. 100k at 340p. I can go on holiday now! | johnrxx99
12/8/2006 09:29 | Directors buying at 350p must underpin the price. More upwards moves next week me thinks with a ME settlement to boot. | johnrxx99
11/8/2006 14:08 | Nice to have a night follow a day for once. | johnrxx99
11/8/2006 08:37 | Come on AVV'ers. Just because an institution sells doesn't change 14 July AGM statement:- "Last year AVEVA made excellent progress with good growth in all of our regions delivering record sales, profits and cash generation. Since the announcement of our preliminary results on 18 May, I am pleased to report that that the Company continues to trade strongly. We are securing good volumes of new contracts. This has included so far this year the award of contracts by a consortium of power design institutes in China to supply software worth $2.8 million and by J. Ray McDermott, a leading worldwide energy services company, to use VANTAGE Project Resource Management to streamline global procurement and materials management processes. Our success continues to be driven by our leadership positions in high growth marine, oil and gas and power sectors, where we have long-term partnerships with blue chip customers. The Board remains confident that AVEVA will deliver another year of good growth." | johnrxx99
10/8/2006 15:24 | Yup. Was a good trade but not that good :-) | wjccghcc
10/8/2006 15:22 | WJC your £11 was before the 3:1 split of course. This is a bargain. Have sold quite a few other stocks to load up. | johnrxx99
10/8/2006 15:18 | Yup. Looks like a big institution selling to another and the market selloff this morning meant the buyer could pretty much set their own price (307.5). Gave me the chance to buy back everything I sold north of 11 quid so I'm happy. Directors were buying at 350p only a few weeks ago. | wjccghcc
10/8/2006 15:13 | There we go, a 200k sale. Good to get it out of the way. | johnrxx99 |
