A look at Avanti's website shows what a vast area the satellites will cover. As 5070481 says the market is huge yet all reinforcing what the potential for AVN is........once the "bloody satellite" gets into space.......if the share price has not moved on significantly by that time then it will go something like the rocket then I'm sure

Togo, my thoughts on this is that it is not really a concern. THe key aspect of HYLAS is that it will be the first KA Band satellite launched to cover Europe. Although Eutelsat also have a launch planned they have not confirmed yet and it is simply pencilled in for early 2011. SO Avanti has first mover advantage.

THe key point of the KA satelittes is that they provide a far superior quality of broadband service. As applications on teh internet are growing increased bandwith is becoming crucial. It is the KA satelittes that will provide this. This is the reason that Avanti have been given the backing of the UK goverment as well as the EU.

Even when Eutelsat do manage to launch theirs next year, the market is huge. It is estimated that there are 70million homes that can be targetted. 350,000 subscribers will fill the HYLAS 1. That is a huge market of which the potential has barely been tapped. Add to that the Middle East opportunities and I think that the future looks very good for Avanti.

Obviously we need to get the bloody satelitte into space.

HOpe this helps
Al.

I wouldn't think that it will be a problem. New company fresh outlook to the business is quite often good. Who would have thought when the first Virgin plane tool to the air that they would ever be any competition to BA ! I'm quite relaxed about it and have always been impressed by David Williams, his drive, focus and determination to succeed

I don,t like the sound of AVN having to go head to head with an established company like Eutelsat!Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Satellite ISP Avanti Communications has revealed more details about the planned launch of its first next generation broadband Satellite - HYLAS 1. Under ideal conditions HYLAS 1 should be able to deliver download speeds of 'up to' 8Mbps around the UK and Europe.

Avanti has been advised by Astrium UK, the manufacturer, that its satellite will now be delivered to the launch site in July 2010. Arianespace, the launch service provider has separately now confirmed that it will be ready to launch HYLAS 1 in August (a "launch campaign" lasting several weeks from delivery to the launch site is typical).

Commenting, David Williams, Avanti Chief Executive, said:

"With excitement growing around the launch of Europe's first dedicated Ka band broadband satellite I am please to demonstrate our success in filling up the satellite with some large contracts signed this month and others to be announced soon."

The satellite itself will launch from a dedicated Soyuz vehicle and the ISP is confident that its program will deliver HYLAS 1 into operation successfully by September 2010. However HYLAS could be a tough sell in the UK and will need to beat Eutelsat's prices and usage allowances (e.g. 3.6Mbps with a 2.4GB usage allowance for around £30 per month) if it is to stand a good chance of breaking into remote and rural communities.

I suspect Robbie has made more money for people following his site than he has made for himself. As they say, you can't fool all the people all the time, and in this game I don't believe the NT can fool any PIs any of the time. I've made some money following his buys.

togo - you could always change the subject.

dil - a dentist or doctor has to learn his trade, so does a trader. When I find someone who clearly trades well I stand up and take notice. That's how I come to be making a sucessful living from trading. Maybe you can do it all on your own without any help. That's great, well done but it ain't righ to mock or sneer at those who teach or who wish to learn.

gerhux , I am sure he's a nice guy and he genuinly believes what he posts unlike some others but point is he is in it for himself and not for you and me. This is a prime example , no one could buy in at his price of 480p for weeks after he did.

Also stop loss at 420p and he sold at 454p .... hmmmm no wonder some people are sceptical.

Dil , I'm sure the answers to your questions can easily be obtained by e-mailing robbiethetrader@aol.com . I have done so on a number of occasions and have received his responses in an extremely timely fashion. And no I am not a "disciple" but found reading his book truly inspiring and I hope , in years to come , life changing.

:-) yes Dil I couldn't agree more.

What one needs to understand is that he is in to make more money for himself by extracting it from those happy to give it to him. Not to help others make money.....or he would say don't use my book store go to Amazon

I too wonder why if he's so good he needs to do seminars , commissions from advfn , etc.

Always been a bit of a sceptic when it comes to these guys that are so genourous to us minnions they are willing to publish their tips all over the internet AFTER buying.
