11/3/2010 14:46 | I'm a little surprised we have not moved up further today. I know it is showing as up 20% ish but that is only from that very short but deep spike down last night. So in fact it has not made any headway today from where we were yesterday before that sudden drop just before the bell | ![]() yorgi
11/3/2010 12:44 | Count - sorry you had a difficult time buying this morning but imvho hang tight; how can this not double as the satellites roll out? I don't know what happened yesterday but it appears just to have been a gathering panic. I just hope that if it was a shorting raid that they got well and truly hammered. S | ![]() smarm

11/3/2010 12:23 | Today's note from Daniel Stewart... Avanti Communications AVN (FTSE AIM All Share) Buy New contract adds 10% presold; launch delayed to Sep. * Avanti announces that it has signed a contract for 320Mb of HYLAS 1 capacity serving Eastern Europe, some 10% of HYLAS 1 total. Avanti had (DSCE) previously sold 14% of HYLAS 1 total throughput. * Avanti notes that the 320Mb sold (over 5 years) is potentially worth 21.9m in revenues, adding that the same customer has also signed options for further HYLAS 1 bandwidth and also on HYLAS 2. This is Avanti's first potential contract on its second satellite. * Avanti notes that its client is "one of the most experienced satellite broadband operators" in the region; however its contract "is conditional upon completion of some asset financing by the customer". Avanti has also signed VNO contracts with three new customers based in the UK but serving various territories in Europe, taking its total VNO customer list to 58. The company states that it "is now confident that it will comfortably exceed its target for pre-sales in [HYLAS 1] launch year of 25%. It reports that "trading for the current period is in line with expectations". * Launch delay. Astrium UK, manufacturer of HYLAS 1, has advised Avanti that the satellite will now be delivered to the launch site in July 2010. Also, launch provider Arianespace has confirmed that it will be ready to launch HYLAS 1 in August. Avanti reports that it had the contractual option of launch on either a shared Ariane-5 vehicle or on a dedicated Soyuz vehicle; it will utilise the Soyuz vehicle option. Therefore, "with some contingency included, Avanti is confident that the program will deliver HYLAS 1 into operation successfully by September 2010". * The net effect of these updates is positive and underpins our outlook, notably the level of presold HYLAS 1 capacity. Our rating remains "Buy". | ![]() someuwin

11/3/2010 11:53 | Count Yes I think you are quite right or it does appear that they had not handled the situation well.....but I'm sure you know as well as I do that we are only seeing half the picture and we don't know for sure the timing of what and when they knew things. All in all two very good RNS's and we should have more over the next few weeks and and we will soon be north of 500p again | ![]() yorgi
11/3/2010 11:43 | --->TERRYEBBY You are correct, and I stand corrected. I checked for the 2250 share purchase @ 449.43p. It is there today and it was transacted at 8:20am. So at least they have done nothing untoward here. Well spotted, as if I had fired off a salvo at the company via email, I would have been left more than a little embarrassed. I was just annoyed at the amateur way things were handled yesterday and also at the fact that I had to pay 450p for more stock today when I was seeing other trades go through for less at the time. Regards, THE COUNT! | ![]() the count
11/3/2010 11:33 | RNS was 9.44am, then another at 11.18 not 7am as it would have been if deals had happened yesterday. Am assuming thus anyway | terryebby
11/3/2010 11:32 | Looks like we are back on track for growth and should move up over £5 ps as contracts are announced pre launch. I also bought more this morning at 435 and 453p. Long term this will be a great investment if all goes to plan. | ![]() dolores123
11/3/2010 11:31 | --->TERRYEBBY I hope that's correct, and if so, I stand corrected. But I have read the RNS again. The RNS is dated for today, obviously, but it only says they were informed of the purchases today. Have I missed where it says that purchases were actually made today, as I hope they have been? Usually it's my experience that info of director purchases usually goes out to the market a day or two after, or even some hours later in the day. I'm just asking in order to confirm, that's all. Maybe I'm just missing it. Regards, THE COUNT! | ![]() the count
11/3/2010 11:08 | As someone else said it has put a bit of life in the board. I would have thought the directors only bought today, if they had bought before yesterdays RNS then that would have been dodgy. So I think we all know still a good buy at this price if one thinks of either a few weeks, months or years ! We have more news to follow over the coming weeks months I added today | ![]() yorgi
11/3/2010 10:44 | 11-Mar Daniel Stewart Reiterate BUY Avanti Communications with Target of 1,111.00p | ![]() someuwin
11/3/2010 10:40 | the directiors didnt buy yesterday - read the announcement, they bought this morning like everyone else | terryebby
11/3/2010 10:39 | "Avanti has several other large contracts under negotiation which are expected to close in the coming weeks and, as a result, is now confident that it will comfortably exceed its target for pre-sales in launch year of 25%. Furthermore, Avanti has several contracts under negotiation for large pre-sales on HYLAS 2." | ![]() someuwin
11/3/2010 10:22 | Count The info was material, but was likely to have a negative impact. Now if they'd sold, it'd be a different matter. Seems their way of restoring confidence, but the quantities involved are tiny and more likely to backfire as a gimmick. Also would question their timing 446p and 449p paid. | ![]() cancun tango
11/3/2010 10:02 | Still no comment on why the launch was delayed. This will leave a stink here until the information is in the open. Management missed an opportunity to get all the bad news out of the way yesterday, takes some of the gloss off what appears a great team. | ![]() cancun tango

11/3/2010 09:32 | Where's the share price going now? on the plus side 1 the release has cleared up the launch doubts that was dragging the share price down anyway before the events of the last 48 hrs. 2 if brokers are re-iterating 1358p target price etc that will help 3 they are winning more contracts on the minus side I've lost some confidence in the management over their handling of the issue.....and that will take longer to re-build. On balance I'm not surprised the share price has recovered so strongly and would not be surprised to see a gentle upward trend continue. But the management must be 'cleaner than white' or letting the market know of any further developments that could impact the launch date before we see it elsewhere. | ![]() melody9999 |
