Bit of a "damp" ending to the day when it began to look exciting but more to come :-)

Yeah Yorgi,
I was impressed with a Lucien Mears tip of Ellixon (mentioned today also), but I don't have any free cash. So it would mean playing around with what shares and funds I'm into, if I really wanted to buy in.

To be honest, I've tried to pull back on all my 'jumping in and out' of companies, as I always get the timing just wrong . . . increased my Spread position on Emed yesterday at 16p, then it plumbeted this morning, as a good example!

I'm much more at ease nowadays, holding for long term and trying to not get flustered with short term movements.

All the best,
John W

A bid approach must be the shorters biggest nightmare.

Yes, agreed Jeffian. The guy was genuine and I wonder if he was just trying to be helpful but perhaps ADVFN decided it was not right for him to be doing it....They might like to confirm ?

yorgi,
Yes, it sounded odd to me too, though I'm sure the guy was for real. Given the restrictions on what can and can't be said outside the RNS system, it seemed unlikely that corporate managements would be prepared to spend any time blogging with anonymous avatars on a free bb.....and as a shareholder I think I'd complain if they did. Let them get on with the day-job!

Jeffian,

Heard no more from the ADVFN guy......all sounded odd top me and I wouldn't have thought it is what people working for ADVFN should be doing with their ADVFN "hat on"

I am sure that the majority of people agree with bbd. I certainly do. There is no "informant"; Calkwell is inventing him in an attempt to legitimise his position and lend his claims some sort of authority. Sheisters have used this ploy for years.

As for personal attacks, I consider that Calkwell has made a personal attack on my wealth. I have held this share for a long time and so am still in profit, but I was a lot richer before this conniving individual decided to reduce my gains by a campaign based on incorrectly interpreted information, designed specifically to make money for himself at the expense of others.

Now he has been shown to be wrong, he returns with more specious arguments in order to persuade the gullible that his self adopted Guru status is untarnished
when in truth he will, by now, have closed all his shorts, ready for another attack on a vulnerable company.

Investors look for good companies to support with their cash so that profits can be made by both sides. The more "personal" attacks the better.

We don't need fat weevils in the apple.

As a holder since a few weeks before the launch, I'm pleased to see these turn round at last, but I don't see that the 'shorts' will be burning too much yet. EK first came on here around 23 Feb when the price was around 550 but in the week or so before that it was up around 630, so whenever he took his position, he's still in the money. Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about what others do as long as you're happy with your own analysis ('the greengiant approach'!). And the best way for companies to deal with shorters is not to argue but to deliver, which is the approach AVN management seem to be adopting.

On another point, I see someone recalled that ADVFN employee coming on here and offering himself as a go-between between the bb and the company. Did anything ever come of that? It seemed pretty unlikely but I'd be interested to hear whether he tried and what sort of response he got, if at all. (Assuming it was printable!)

The thought of EK in shorts makes me feel queasy ;-)

On the subject of his "informant" does anyone have any thoughts on who it could be? Investec's analyst is the only bear in town but is an analyst at a bank even allowed to feed info to someone like EK? I thought there were rules about that stuff like that.

With the price now through the 500p mark on a good volume and yesterday's good news and price rise I'm feeling very positive!

Hang on to your hats!

Cellular backhaul going to play an increasingly important role in the business and their latest appointments experience? Oh yes. Cellular.

My informant tells me that SC's informant is was last seen in Rymans buying a new calculator!

Hey Yorgi,
Sorry I didn't get a chance to see you at MI at the weekend.
Anyway, Please don't say that 'this is the last time to top up before 500p'
I seem to recall that everyone was saying that it was the last time to top up sub 700p, around the time of the launch, then look what happened!!

I've still a way to go to break even on my Spreads, but my shares are doing nicely now though.

All the best,
John

Short squeezes can be vicious and highly unpredictable.

Two brokers have price targets over £25,we have a lot of upside.

Coming into a long weekend I would not want to be short.

The newsflow can be timed to act against the shorters.

They in effect declared war on the company.

That man has had a free lunch spreading nonsense.
