Just seen this on their website. More customers signed up!



Avanti Communications Group Plc (AIM: AVN), the satellite operator, is pleased to welcome four new service provider customers to its HYLAS 1 system:

- Inland Computer Services in Spain
- Banda Ampla in Spain
- Krypton TV in Cumbria, UK
- Simply Balanced Services in Scotland, UK

By purchasing Avanti's entry level Shared Virtual Network Operator (SVNO) product, these service providers are able to offer affordable broadband services to their underlying consumer and enterprise customers across their regions.

David Williams, Avanti Chief Executive said "I am pleased to welcome these new service providers to our system. I hope that the HYLAS 1 services they have bought will help them grow their businesses as well as deliver broadband solutions to the unserved populations in Scotland, England and Spain. I am also pleased to see that customers continue to choose Avanti because our product is competitive and our approach is flexible."

An interesting article (and just to show I am not just a bull with Rose tinted glasses). No doubt there are threats to the Avanti model, but believe wholly in the company and management.

Outlook

HYLAS 1 will be brought into commercial service in March, and as a result we are finding that sales opportunities with large international telecoms companies are becoming easier to generate. We therefore remain highly confident that we can fill our satellites within the three and five year ramp up targets previously discussed, and at attractive prices.

We previously described our strategy to seek efficient ways to finance the HYLAS 3 satellite. The debt finance secured from export credit agencies for HYLAS 2 provided relatively high leverage, thus minimising equity dilution for shareholders, and also bears a comparatively low coupon of below 6%. In order to repeat this success, we decided to seek pre sales contracts from customers on the HYLAS 3 satellite, which can then be used to finance the satellite in the debt market, protecting shareholders interest. Such financings are time consuming and complex, but well suited to a business like Avanti which has very long term assets and aspirations. I am pleased to report that we are in advanced negotiations on several significant pre-sales contracts which should enable us access efficient capital and we hope to update the market soon.


I suspect we are going to have news on funding for Hylas 3 fairly shortly..
