24/2/2011 10:32 | colva Looking at the current share price I suspect he's glad he didn't! or maybe he did and chose to ignore it. | ![]() argy2
24/2/2011 10:23 | someuwin I must admit that i also follow SC,s comments on TW,s site and in the past have made a decent profit by investing in his tips - but as you say he does tend to rely on others research and freely admits that he doesn,t always understand the detail - he can also change tack very quickly - sometimes within a day or two -- it will be interesting to hear what he has to say tomorrow What i don,t understand is TW read SC,s "research" and refused to put it up on the t1ps site - so why didn,t SC read TW,s authentic research before going ahead | colva
24/2/2011 10:10 | We should soon have news that Hylas1 is in service which should have a positive affect on the share price Some people have been slightly confused between operational and in service, so confirmation that it is in service will be welcome news. | ![]() yorgi
24/2/2011 10:06 | Directors purchase does not preclude imminent contract news. It is well known that they are in a phase of rapid sign up. Contracts could, and will get signed at any time. | ![]() someuwin
24/2/2011 10:06 | One might have thought that director buying would have had a greater affect in pushing the price up but don't forget the hedge fund are shorting aggressively and they have also called upon SC to help them. We do also have the troubles of the M/E and Libya which is not helping the market. | ![]() yorgi
24/2/2011 10:06 | Interesting post JOHN 53 - thanks Lets hope you can persuade the market. The general market panic over oil prices cant be helping. Maybe the Directors will fork out again at even lower prices!! The confidence of Investors in the management has taken a knock amidst conflicting interpretations of AVN's prospects. Hoping for a nice steady recovery for the rest of the day. | leluot2
24/2/2011 09:59 | what we need is a good contract, but I don't suppose one is imminent as the Directors have just bought | ![]() rogash
24/2/2011 09:59 | Surprised that the Director buying - though not great - had such a little effect on the share price yesterday. This seller has been around for some time now. Also surprised that the company hasn't put out an RNS. An extraordinary episode which acts as a real warning to the PI. | leluot2
24/2/2011 09:53 | It does rather appear that SC has been used yes, but he really should have done his homework which it seems fairly clear he hasn't. Having read the detail of TW's reply it is very detailed and technical and somehow (this is not meant to be rude) I doubt that SC really does understand all of that. One needs to have some technical knowledge, understanding to be able to come to a conclusion like he did. What also has surprised me that he did not just "pass it by" TW before going for it which it would appear he hasn't but I could be wrong. | ![]() yorgi
24/2/2011 09:53 | someuwin - yes, that came as a surprise to me too re his long/short ratio. Not quite so legendary eh! Tom has posted why EK's figs are wrong, only time will tell how this plays out. We await news that the satellite is fully operational and hopefully we will also get some contract news as well. Still holding, not entirely happy but bought a few more today. S | ![]() smarm
24/2/2011 09:51 | Well I have made money on SC's tips and enjoy reading his dairies on T1ps but like everyone else he sometimes gets it wrong, if I remember he shorted gold at one point last year when TW thought him wrong, TW was provern right | ![]() malcolmmm
24/2/2011 09:48 | superg - thanks, appreciated. S | ![]() smarm
24/2/2011 09:47 | "The main reason I subscribe to t1ps.com is to read SC's comments". I suspect there are many like you and that TW is well aware of that. | ![]() argy2
24/2/2011 09:41 | Quite right Malcom. The main reason I subscribe to t1ps.com is to read SC's comments. He tends to go long more often than short and makes some interesting choices. I believe he is a man of integrity and would not spread disinformation. However, he is sometimes lead by others' research and will often buy or sell just on the nod from an acquaintance. such is the case here. The analysts research he quoted has been disproved (see t1ps) and, like the directors yesterday i am happy to buy at this level. | ![]() someuwin
24/2/2011 09:40 | There is lots of conjecture ....but the facts as per the AVN interim are: "The order book (also known as "backlog" in our industry) across the two satellites now totals £229 million with the average length of contracts being 7.2 years for HYLAS 1 and 4.3 years for HYLAS 2. The average prices per MHz per month are materially ahead of expectations. The pipeline of potential new business in negotiation amounts to £389m, not including transactions which are under negotiation to support the efficient debt financing of HYLAS 3." and "HYLAS 1 will be brought into commercial service in March, and as a result we are finding that sales opportunities with large international telecoms companies are becoming easier to generate. We therefore remain highly confident that we can fill our satellites within the three and five year ramp up targets previously discussed, and at attractive prices." | ![]() melody9999
24/2/2011 09:36 | Yes well he should have done his homework before posting a flawed argument. | ![]() yorgi
24/2/2011 09:28 | There must be a good chance that positive newsflow through March and April will enable EK and his Hedge Fund associate to make money on the way down, close his short and make more on the way up. If you believe in the 3-5 year term then hold. A good thing Hylas 1 didn't blow up on launch! | jick
24/2/2011 09:28 | Bought another 30k this morning below 520. Thank you Mr Cawkwell. Superg1 I am always happy to hear both sides of the story so would appreciate an email of your findings. Dozydealer@gmail.com Thanks in advance Gg | ![]() greengiant
24/2/2011 09:24 | Can't go wrong buying at this price imo. | ![]() someuwin
24/2/2011 09:24 | Your right there Malcolmmm and whats interesting is they upon called SC to help them. | ![]() yorgi
24/2/2011 09:23 | Oh if I was one of SC's puppets. Shouldn't I be here now gloating of my short and money in the bank. That would further his cause. But I'm not and in truth I totally disagree with the way this has gone on. BUT I have to agree I thought Avanti was at too high a price and would fall. All he was doind was making sure it happened to his benefit, and just for fun ???? it seems. He doesn't need the money. Perhaps he should move into computer viruses, as where those morons get a kick out of destroying the average persons computer defeats me. He would fit nicely into that category. It backs up my thoughts no matter how good the propects are, if it doesn't equate to cash flow now, a share is vulnerable to such 'attacks' | ![]() superg1
24/2/2011 09:22 | Yes I am 2vdm and I'm quite confident it will :-) | ![]() yorgi
24/2/2011 09:22 | Nasty bear raid by a hedgefund determined to drive share price down, they have found an easy target here, hope that the directors are watching for fraud, these will bounce when they have finally taken their pound of flesh imo | ![]() malcolmmm |
